the dre haters, doubters, naysayers and "critics"
« on: July 08, 2001, 08:05:57 PM »
a few people have been talking about a lot of the anti-dre things floating around on the net and on some forums, including this one. don't sweat these people. its human nature to try and bring down the ones on top. i would be worried if there wasn't dre criticism, doubters, haters, etc. this would mean that dre's music didn't matter. dre is at the top and when you're number one for every supporter you got you have 100 people against you trying to bring you down. there are a lot of factors that lead to people hating dre. one is a lack of musical knowledge. one is lack of common sense. another is that when someone is struggling in life it makes them feel better to go after someone thats doing well. the biggest reason is jealousy. this goes for the every day listener to people like suge in the industry. people hate people they can never be.people hate dre because they have envy and jealousy for all of dre's success. some of these people have a hard life and hate that dre is doing so well and they aren't.  dre is in his 30's and he is worth 9 figures. he never has to work again.he has a great family and will enjoy a life most people can't have. and he is a legend, now and forever. and his catologue of music is matched only by a handful of other producers in the history of music. and he's not done yet.
recently on this site we had a gentleman post a thread saying that dre has fell off. he argued with no hard evidence. the only evidence he had was to say in his opinion dre's old music is better than his new music. thats the only thing he based his arguement on. a lot of people on this board took issue with his post and strongly supported dre. i posted a reply as well. in my reply i stated that i had no problem with a person liking dre's old music better than his newer stuff. that's a matter of musical taste and opinion. on my reply i did discredit or rebut every statement he made. he talked about a few things that were inaccurate and i pointed those out. i also pointed out things that showed that dre has not fell off. i pointed out that dre was a better and more complete producer now more than ever, cause i see it firsthand. i did not say the music he was putting out was better than stuff he did 10 years ago.that's an impossible thing to judge. dre has used many styles and its just personal opinion which one you like better. on that same reply i made my arguement why dre has not fell off. one was record sales and that more people are buying his music more than ever. but sales alone are not a good reason to say that dre hasn't fell off. you then have to look at respect in the industry. if quincy jones comes out and says dre has fallen off then dre would need to listen to that advice and look deep inside himself and get better.but that hasn't happened and it will never happen. dre will listen to people who have done what he has done. those are the only opinions that should count. the rest dre don't give a fuck about anymore. right now the respect for dre in the music industry is at an all time high. everyone wants to work with him including 3 other living legends - michael jackson. madonna and paul mc cartmey. most people in rap want to work with him as do most people in r and b. in a recent survey of the top 22 record executives dre got the most votes when they were asked who would be the most successful artist in music over the next 7 years. a few executives called dre the top creative force and the most talented person in all of music. last year dre won producer of the year in the grammy's for all music. all this is as close as you can get to evidence that dre has not fallen off. your opinion may be different but the fact is undeniable that dre is as good as ever.
the gentleman who insisted that dre has fallen off (cwalker187 i believe) later posted a reply on that same thread that we had no offered any evidence to contridict his opinion. so either he can't read or he skipped over my post. and he didn't answer the most important questions on that entire post. the questions was whether he'd actually produced a hit record and whether he had ever watched dre in person. he didn't answer those questions so i assume the answer is no. if you can't answer those questions with a yes you can not judge whether or not someone has fell off. you can have your opinion. but you can't win an arguement against anyone who answers yes to those two questions. every person who can answer both questions would tell you dre is a genious whose magic in the studio has not lessened, it has in fact grown stronger. you can't change the opinion of these haters, naysayers, doubters and "critics".so its stupid to try and change them. you can't change ignorance, jealosy. hatred, stupidity, lack of musical experience or knowledge. the fact remains dre is the top motherfucker in the game. but there is not a person on the world who is not hated, disrespected, disliked or the object of jealousy. no one is perfect, and dre will be the first one to tell you that he isn't either. no beat he makes will ever be liked by everybody. the same way with his styles. dre has set the standards so high people expect miracles and will never be happy. i don't know what some people expect from dre. just respect him and move on whether you like him or not. and buy his music and enjoy. he's giving everything he's got on every song.and he will continue to put out consisitenty hot shit. sometimes its will be average, some will be great, some will be classic and some will be legendary.
so in conclusion don't sweat the dre haters and doubters. cause dre doesn't. dre will continue to live his impossible dream of a career and life and some of the people who can never have what he has or will ever be what he is will always try to bring down dre or deny his talent. but they are wasting their life worrying about some one they can't stop. you can't stop dre. those people will either continue to waste their life away or maybe just maybe worry about their own life and work as hard as dre does.when they do that they might just do some with their life. peace to everyone, including the people who dislike dre. just give him his due respect and move on to something else.

i apologize that i brought up the cwalker cat again.i hate giving credence to ignorant comments once, let alone twice. i will do my best to ignore any future responce to bullshit posts in the future, other than bringing up this post again. the reason i brought up his example again was to prove a point. you can destroy someones opinion, theories, or lies with the truth a million times and you will never change that persons opinion. so its no use and a waste of time to try and change them. feel sorry for them, ignore them and move on. and remember to ask yourself a few questions. will that person's stupid comments, disrespect or opinion affect your life? will it affect dre's? will it stop dre from being a legend? will it stop dre from living his dream life? will it stop dre from being succesful? the answer to these questions is NO. so in the grand scheme of things what that person thinks means nothing. it won't hurt or stop dre and it won't hurt you or stop you from doing what you want to do. let those people waste their life away and be mad at the world. you need to focus on your life, work hard and don't let what outsiders think of you affect you or stop you from being successful. that's what i'm doing, and thats what dre's doing. focus, work hard and let the people trying to bring you down waste their life away worrying about you more than they do themselves. cause when it comes down to it you will are going to be more successful than they are and the person who is trying to bring you down knows that and it hurts them deeply.
that was the point of this post. pretend the haters don't exist. cause when it comes down to it what they think or say don't mean a damn thing.its what you and the people who love you think about you is what you need to worry about .nothing else matters. peace.

Well said Mellowman.

One other thing that irks me is when some people discredit Dre because he doesn't play all of his own instuments, unlike say, DJ Quik.  Make no mistake, Quik is one of the top producers in the game, but Dre has the best EAR in the game.  A lot of cats could play keys, drums, guitars and such.  However there's not many cats in the game that can orchestrate a beat that will have you bobbin' your head the first time you hear it.  I'm sure most of us when crazy when we first heard Still Dre and the clean production that came with it.  The first thing that came to my mind when I heard that was how good it would feel to cruise down the street in my ol skool stang' bumpin Dr. Dre when it came out.  Another thing is that people in the clubs go crazy whenver F--- You or the Next Episode is played, just like they did before with G Thang and Dre Day back in the day.

When you're at the top, people definitely want you take you down.  People did it to Master P, and now they're doing it to Dre.  What's messed up is that you have malicious people in the West Coast(Dre's own home) trying to take him down.

My point is that the day Dre slips a little is when we stop bobbing our heads to his funky beats, and not when he decides to evolve his music to our everchanging world.  That's just my two cents. Peace.

And The Funny Thing Is:

That's Bullshit.  Even Quik Doesn't Play His Instruments.  He Plays A Friekin' Keyboard.  He Can't Play Guitar! He May Be Able To Play Drums, But I'm Not Sure... Dre Can Play Drums And Keyboard, But Usually Gets Other Peeps To Do It.

Well everything you said there to me is bullshit.

Why? Cause I hate Dre. Plain and simple but I still respect what the guy has done for rap. I think Dre is one of the wackest rappers around but the no.1 producer around. He has done so much for rap that he is that good people just hate him for being that.

Not me. I hate him cause I think he is a wack rapper and I'll never like him. I would work with him if I was a rapper cause I would be bount to make loadsa money from collabing with him but that's about it.

That's what I'm saying. I hate Ja Rule's music, but if I met him he could be one of the nicest peeps I've ever met.
If N-Imy said, I hate Dre cause I met him once and he was an asshole when I asked him for an autograph- I could understand that
He really should grow up

What happened to my message anyway...

Like Outkast or Cypress , Dre constantly reinvents himself , if people don't understand and respect this ,they don't know what they're talking about...
Personally, my only regret is that he abandonned the melody for the minimalist shit ,so if some cats don't like his new style i can't blame them.

ok you people saying I can't hate Dre cause I never met him before so I don't know wot he's like. Then how the fuck could you know if Em is a pussy or not just by looking at him (cause of this whole thing wit Everlast). Answer me that cause i'm going by wot your saying and my judgement of Dre is the exact one of Eminem.
