Lakers And Pistons Agreed To Kobe Trade
« on: November 15, 2007, 11:55:58 AM »
That scared the fuck outta me. At first site I thought it said AGREE to Kobe trade

Quote
1270 Detroit -
According to radio station 1270 AM in Detroit, the Lakers and Pistons came to an agreement to trade Bryant to the Pistons.

However, Bryant used his no-trade clause to veto the trade.

The report claims the deal was completed late Tuesday night.

Detroit would have sent Tayshaun Prince, Rip Hamilton, Amir Johnson and a first round pick to the Lakers.

wow, that is actually a terrible trade. im not just saying this cause I want kobe with the mavs, but howard+terry+hassell+picks would be a fucking lot better for the lakers. and for kobe.
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

Pistons respond to Kobe rumors

November 15, 2007
KRISTA JAHNKE
INSIDE THE PISTONS

Despite the ESPN-fueled rumors that won’t die, the players know there’s no way – and never was a way – the Pistons were involved in serious conversations for Kobe.
Asked whether he’s had to diffuse the rumors at all and tell the players to ignore them, Saunders said, “No, our players are smarter than that.”

And asked whether he expects this core to stick together for the foreseeable future, Billups said, “I definitely feel confident about that.”

Billups said he hasn’t listened to one word of the trade rumors that followed Bryant through much of the summer and early season.

“I don’t have to deal with it,” Billups said. “It is what it is. He’s probably the biggest name or the biggest star in the league. … It is what it is. You can’t control anything that happens or is said about it, so I don’t really care. It’s whatever.”

Unfortunately, BabyG isn't...

kobe will still be on the lakers, there's no one out there really who have the players to give the lakers anything while still having a roster that kobe can play with and win. expect kobe to fuck the lakers when he can opt out.

Phoenix does but I see why they don't want to do that. Phoenix can give us Marion + Barbosa + the Hawks 1st Round Pick.

Lakers
Kwame Brown / Andrew Bynum / Chris Mihm
Lamar Odom / Ronny Turiaf / Brian Cook
Shawn Marion / Luke Walton / Vladimir Radmanoiv
Leandro Barbosa / Maurice Evans / Coby Karl
Derek Fisher / Jordan Farmar / Javar Crittenton

^ Not as satisfying as having Kobe, but I'd rather do that then let him walk away and have nothing. I think Kobe would go for it because the Suns would still have Stoudemire + Nash + Bell + Diaw + Hill + Banks

If Kobe gets traded it'll be to a big city franchise ie, Chicago or NY.

^^Seriously...and there's nothing worse than the groupies who spread it...Kobe is not being traded...if we suck major balls for the next 2 seasons, he could very well opt out. In that case, we're still the Los Angeles Lakers, and we'll still have a lot of money to spend on whatever free agent we want, which will be much better than getting a couple borderline all-stars in return...If the Lakers play like a team on a mission for these next 2 season, though, dude is retiring in LA...PeACe

If Kobe goes to an Eastern Conference team he's a bitch.
