Strange movie...I liked it. It's not your typical comedy, but it's still a very funny movie. Very good writing and directing by Peter Hedges, as well...Surprised it didn't get more attention...I'd say this is yet another sleeper comedy. If you're a fan of Steve Carrell's humor, watch this shit...PeACe

It looked funny to me but someone said it was more of a romantic comedy so I kind of lost interest

I dunno, is "40 Year Old Virgin" a romantic comedy? It's funny, regardless.

So out of all the people on this board who loved "40 Year Old Virgin", I'm the only one who went out and watched this?

I guess so, I wanted to check it out but it seemed like it was marketed as more of a family movie. I'll probably wait until it comes out on DVD.

I finally saw this over the weekend, it was alright. It did have an interesting outlook and plot, and a few funny moments, especially the way the family interacted. I didn't really like the girl character that he fell for. Overall, a solid movie worth checking out, and pretty good for a romantic comedy if you are trying to compromise on a movie with your girl.

I didn't watch this movie in theatres because Dane Cook was going around promoting it, and I fucking hate Dane Cook. I rented it a couple weeks ago because I forgot he was in it. But I ignored the fact and actually enjoyed it. It was pretty decent. 7/10.

this movie was weak! not even comparable to 40 year old.

1.yeah it was funny and had it's moments, but it's a movie marketed to 45 year old divorcees ,looking for HOPE....
2. the fucking middle daughter was annoying
3. dane cook was even MORE annoying
4. i hate rhoad island rich martha stewart white people who have family gettaway cabins ....shit irritates me
5. it's full of hokey white people moments (let's play a game , hide n seek, talent show, ect) i fuckin hate that shit more than clam chowder
6. it was too disney, on the edgey parts.
7. we rented the blu ray and it was way way too slow loading for a movie like this with so little feartures and 0 graphics.

Haha, I thought the hokey white people thing was funny, and the little Asian girl who appeared out of nowhere. I think I've only met one person who likes Dane Cook, how the hell did he get all these movie roles? At least his part wasn't too big. I stand by my statements, it wasn't too much like 40-Year-Old Virgin, but it was entertaining.

Saw the movie today.. Didn't like it AT ALL.. Boring... The only really good scene was when you first realized the girl was his brothers girlfriend...

Oh and I loved 40 Yr Old Virgin..

Just watched this,  very good movie.  Alot of you guys are really missing what this type of movie is about and trying to convey.  I don't even consider it a comedy at all, and how any comparisons with 40 year old Virgin are being made or thought of is absolutely absurd.  I guess if you were going into this movie expecting to laugh throughout then yeah you were going to be disappointed but you aren't taking this movie for what it is or what it's worth.  Very good movie in my opinion and to me it sounds like alot of you that saw this went into the movie expecting something completely different, don't blame the movie because of that.  I do agree that Dane Cook was a bit annoying in this but the rest of the case made up for that.
