I know you said dont answer that but i have a few things to say.

First off england dont deserve to go through, we lost a quarter of the games we played and only won 7 games. Considering six of those matches are a given then its pretty shocking.

Who's to blame ? McClaren ? The Players ?

In all honesty McClaren should never have been appointed, as a manager his greatest achievement was losing in the uefa cup final and coming 13th in the league. Time after time for england he has shown he is tactically inept. The first game against croatia he decided to use a formation that deploys wing backs, something that england have never used.In russia he instructed the team to hang on to a draw which just invited pressure. If we had the ball steve we wouldnt have conceded.

Tonight was another perfect example, knowing we only needed a draw he decided to pack the midfield. Thats ok but there are certain things you need ie a player who can tackle. Barry has done well against the micky mouse teams he has played against but there is no doubt that hargreaves should have played. There is no good packing the midfield if you cant win the ball. Also if you are going to play crouch then he needs service, Joe cole on the left never crosses the ball , and SWP delivery is beyond erratic. It was a night where beckham should play , he might not have done much when he came on but one good ball equaled a goal. Id take one assist from beckham every match over someone winning lots of throw ins.

The other huge decision was dropping robinson, now robinson has not been playing well but he should have been drooped before now. Also if he was going to be dropped then james should have played, i dont understand how carson the number 3 plays before james. This was not a game to play someone as inexperenced as carson, this was the biggest game of his life and prob the most important.

Of couse some of the blame must be with the players, tonight we missed the back four. We probably wouldnt have conceded as many but we still needed the other playes to perform. Thats something they havent done even when we have had  a full team. We need a manager who can get the best out of the players. if you look at mcclarens results against the big teams we havent won a single game, we lost to spain and germany and only managed draws against holland.

On another note it shows how good sven was doing, with sven you were guarenteed qualification and a quarter final appearence. With a bit more of luck in tournaments we would have gone further.

In the future mcclaren has got to go and we must not replace him with an englishman. it needs to be someone who has won championshops, european trophys i dont care where he is from. Apparently capello tonight has said that he would manage england if asked.

Im not one of these people who believe england should win all the time but without a doubt we have the players that should get us qualified for tournaments.
