I am going to be writing a gangster film...

As some of you already know i am from India, and may also know that I love the gangster/crime genre movies. I have watched the aclaimed top Bollywood gangster films and I am still not satisfied. In a country of such high corruption, crime, poverty and over population, there has not been a good film depicting the realities of the Mumbai Underworld and the poverty in the slums in India. So I am starting to write it, and hopefully it will be produced one day.

It will start in this place. Dharavi, Mumbai (The largest slum in Asia). I dont want to say too much but it will be a drug related movie.

Word up. Great idea, I just finished reading this yakuza anime comic called STRAIN, its set in Malaysia and goes to other places in Asia, its an asian crime epic. Would be real inspirational for you.

just been doing research on the slums and i here are some shocking realities.

slum people are snatched up by mafia syndicates and killed for their body parts, which are sold to western countries to rich people who are in need of a transplant. This is all done illegally even the transplant operation on the other end in the Western countries.

Young boys work various different hustles day to day to make small money. Such as shoe shinning in the cities or carrying luggage for people at the train station when passengers get off.

Young girls are forced into prostitution because they need the money due to their poor circumstances.

Right now i am still doing alot of the background research on this particular slum. to get some ideas on what i can write about. I thought ''City of God'' was a great film and a def classic in the gangster films genre. But what i want to achieve is to show the realities of extreme poor circumstances in these areas and the difficult lifestyle which ultimately lead to one boy becoming a man who becomes one of the biggest criminals.
