damn i'm glad someone's out there reaching the youth about the trash that's out there in hip hop.

if i said it once i've said it a million times.

today's hip hop is like 80's hair metal

i love what dude said at the end too "soon there's going to be alternatives and it's not going to be corny ....choose the alternative!"

that's exactly how i feel.

The kids in that clip seem smarter than 90% of the rappers making music today.

I like what he had to say, but at the end of the day, right now he didn't offer any alternatives, so these kids will be like 'yeah that dudes right you know', but then they are gonna return home and play their 50 Cent record or whatever.

Overall though, dude done a pretty good job.
BTW, them kids were no fools either.

what's the alternative? lol really . 97.5% of rap is this fake bullshit. even covetted artists from the 'underground' are falling into the same holes. and the other 2.5% are corny....that's why dude said:

"SOOON there will be an alternative and it won't be corny...choose the alternative"

plus it's up to the kids to decide where they want to take this knowledge now. i think if he would've gave them an alternative it would've came off as preachy or forcing something down their throats....and that's not going :

a) give them necessary a freedom of choice
b) critical thinking
c) an accurate outlook on the issues at hand

plus i've heard that speach from people at school before then they fuck it up by offering bullshit religious rap or some other corny shit.....which REALLY ruined it for me and what did i do , i rebelled.

I agree, but there are some artists that still put out some decent music, without giving some sort of alternative, he gives them nothing.

I don't like how this was mainly aimed at today's Hip Hop (I understand, the age of the kids limits the music they can use as examples), as if 90s Hip Hop was not fake. Some of the biggest artists in the 90s were Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. They obviously fit the profile of what this cat was talking about. It's not just the T.I.'s or the 50 Cent's. Studio Gangsters is not a new thing. It was learned from somewhere...

I can't believe y'all is buyin' that shit man, for real, that guy is a fool.. He got caught, went to jail, snitched, got a gang tattoo, now he can't go back to his hood because his homies will smoke him. So now he's actin' like it's all good to snitch and talkin' about rappers shouldn't rap about the shit they did that they lived 95% of they life and of course haven't forgotten and pro'lly ain't used to all the money yet so they still rap about what they feel comfortable about.. and he says they can't say that.. but yet he's talkin' 'bout his own gang tattoos and he's showin' that like "look I got a gang tattoo".. if rappers do that he'll tlak down on dem for dat.
