BLACKWALLSTREET 2003 - NOW...WTF Happend ?

First off this is not meant as a hate thread, just a discussion.

When Game started BlackWallStreet in 2003, I thought this was a great thing that would expand the West Coast music scene.
As time went I noticed that many of his artists/acts simply disappered, left or fell off the map. Is this due to label politics, Game's business practices, or other problems ? When I look at the past list of artists & affiliates, I can't seem to think of what could have been. Since 2003 we have 2 Game albums, Hurricane sneakers, countless mixtapes, and no official BlackWallStreet artist albums. On a side note; No offense to Juice or Arizona, but why did Game put on someone from Arizona before some of the countless MC's comin up outta Cali ? At one time it all seemed so promising. Now we have Juice, Clyde Carson ang Big J ? WTF ?

At first everything was going great. Game had the hype, talented artistsm and was looking to reintroduce West Coast gangsta rap to hip hop. But Game just doesn't know how to run a record label. At first that wasn't really a problem because Fase would take care of all the business matters. But when Game and Fase split, all the artists had to choose which direction to go in and the power structure crumbled. The guys that went with Fase got stuck in the same situation as every other rapper on the West Coast and that was no exposure, no outlet to display their music, and no star power to back them. The people that stuck with Game couldn't do shit because 1) Game didn't know shit about running a label 2) Eventually it seemed like he didn't even care to put his own artists. He makes no effort to get BWS a good record deal. He seems to be using signings and mixtapes as pure hype for himself. Glasses Malone, Vita, Techniec, Clyde Carson, Eastwood, Cysserro, and Charli Baltimore all realized this when they signed on to BWSl and ditched. It was a shame to because in 2005 it really looked like BWS was going to take over the West Coast. Now it is little more then a vanity label.

One thing is for sure that I would like to say in Games defense: staring a new label and presenting new acts is hard as fuck these days, the way the albums are selling.

But I also have to say that Game took a big L for dissing 50 for his so called "only cares about himself, not the others" character. Let's leave the fact that 50 is responsible for Game's career aside, he is one of the rare rappers that made his homeboys platinum rap stars. Em didn't do it for D12, Luda for DTP, Nelly for St. Lunatics, Fat Joe for Terror Squad, D-Block and the list goes on and on....

Glasses Malone - Game had about one song with him. Malone was tight with Fase when he first joined and got alot of new west artists attention.
Life - Game tried to put him on BET with 4bent. Once 4bent died Game sort of forgot about him and the rest of the upcoming compton artsists.
Vita - had a few freestyles on ykwii 2. Left very early on before the documentary.
Ya Boy - ran with Game in 06. He was on alot of the BWS journal's tracks. Game promoted him a little on myspace and his forum.
Phat Rat - is Ya Boy's uncle and brought him to BWS. He is one of the first members and is tight with Fase. He aint an artist and he is still tight with Game. He was on SSSL CD & DVD.
Black Friday - from the early years of BWS. Game didnt really feel him and only made a couple of tracks with him. Game forgot about him like he did with the rest when 4bent passed away.
Billboard - was promoted like hell by Game. He was the main one Game really believed could be up there. He had alotta tracks with Game until he unfortunately was killed in 04.
Big Fase 100 - him and Game made his first mixtape 'the chronicles'. Game featued him on alot of dvds and he shouted him out in tracks a few times. Family matters happened in 05.
Techniec - would have been with Game alot more but M.O.B decided not to release an album together. He went to DC and is still cool with Game.
Juice - doesnt really deserve to be Game's top artist but is on alot of BWS shit and is always gettin love from Game.
Clyde Carson - no idea why he was signed by Game. Has only had a couple of songs with him. Not promoted at all. No idea what they're doin together right now.
M.O.B - Was on ghost unit/sssl/ykwii3 and would have been crazy. To bad Game forgot about them when he was on tour and tech and east were forced to leave. They are still cool though.
Eastwood - same as above ^
Cyssero - Was real cool with Game. Was signed at a Game concert when he spit some bars for Taydoe on camera and it was shown to Game. He was promoted on some Game tapes. Not too sure about the relationship they have right now. He released 'nobodies fool' which could be seen as a diss.
Charli Baltimore - was homies with NJD and he produced some of her songs. She was on a couple of Game tapes and was promoted on Games forum in 05. Left because like all the others Game forgot about them.
Nu Jersey Devil - one of the only begining members to still stay BWS until today. He is tight with Game and produced Games tapes with skee. Gets promoted on myspace by Game.

Sounds about right but the thing you're forgettin is that people like Glasses, Ya Boy and etc never planned to actually sign wit BWS. They just worked out some shit to let em get some shine. Same thing with Clyde Carson and Dubb. And Life doesn't have a got work ethic, he's the type of nigga who wanna "stay fly" and all that shit.

But to sum it all up, i think that u can say that the reason BWS never blew up like dat is because of the bullshit. I mean how did yall expect Game to drop shit with M.O.B., Charli, Cyssero and etc when basically his own career was shakin cuz thats about the time his beef with 50 really took of with the Stop Snitchin Stop Lyin shit and then after that the whole Aftermath sitatution and finally the whole "Can he make it big with his next album without 50 & Dre" hype.

But its a damn shame M.O.B. never dropped, damn East, Tech and Game that shit would be straight raw. Almost like a Westside Connection thing u feel me.

And to the nigga who said "those wack ass shoes". U know how much dude sold of of those? I dont give a fuck how they design my shoe, if it sells then lets get it crackin.

Juice is dope, and above all someone who can write songs. U gotta realize that
he wanna make money, just like everybody else and Juice got plenty of hot tracks with nice hooks and he's gotten
very nice feedback. And why the fuck should Game hire someone else to run something he created?

Like i said its because of all the bullshit the shit never popped of and read what i said, most of them cats never actually signed to BWS so why should he promote them?
