RAPE claim at Manchester United party
« on: December 18, 2007, 11:07:01 AM »
MANCHESTER United stars were reeling last night after a woman claimed she was raped at their Christmas party.

Detectives were called to the boutique hotel venue at 4.15am yesterday over reports that a 26-year-old had been the victim of a sex attack.

And the players were said to be "in a state of shock" as news of the bombshell allegations became known.

The team hired out the 35-room hotel - where rooms cost between £235 and £395 - exclusively for the party.

No arrests have been made - and Greater Manchester Police said "inquiries are continuing".

Plain-clothes officers visited the Great John Street Hotel, Manchester, again yesterday morning to quiz staff about the party.

And a sign outside said: "Please note the hotel will be closed until further notice. Thankyou for your co-operation."

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "Police are investigating a report of a rape at a hotel in Manchester city centre.

"At 4.15 a.m. on Tuesday, police were called to the hotel on Great John Street to a report that a 26-year-old woman had been raped. Inquiries are continuing."

Each United player was allowed to bring an allocated number of guests to the party - and there is no suggestion any players feature in the allegation.

Girls

One guest at the swanky party said there were around 90 girls at the bash - some travelling hundreds of miles to attend.

The source told The Sun: "I spoke to one stunner who'd come up from London and another who'd travelled from Newcastle.

"They were gorgeous - most were aged between 18 and 30. And some of them were throwing themselves at the players.

"The booze was really flowing - waitresses were handing out pink champagne to whoever wanted it.

"And the players seemed to be knocking back beer, vodka and whisky.

"I can't believe this has happened because it had been such a great party earlier in the evening.

"Rooney and Rio spent most of the night on the dance floor - but Ryan Giggs stole the show when he did an Elvis Presley impression.

"He turned his collar up and started doing a mime to one of his songs - everyone formed a circle around him and started clapping.

"It was wall-to-wall babes. Some of the girls were absolute knock-outs."

It wasnt rape, it was suprise sex.

"Police sources said the rape allegation at the hotel is against a. young man associated with the club who is not a regular player with any of the teams. "

I find it extremely fucked up that women who flat out LIE about being raped don't get charged with a severe jail sentence when proven wrong.
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

POLICE last night arrested Manchester United defender Jonny Evans on suspicion of rape.

The 19-year-old was being held in custody after presenting himself to police following a day-trip to Monaco.

It is believed his day trip to the French Riviera was with a relative and pre-arranged.

He jetted back into Manchester Airport last night - and immediately made himself available for interview.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: “Detectives investigating a report of rape at a Manchester city centre hotel have arrested a 19-year-old.

”He was arrested on suspicion of rape this evening after presenting himself to police. He remains in custody.”

Evans made his first team debut in a Carling Cup defeat against Coventry in September - and has since played two Champions League fixtures, at home to Dynamo Kiev and away to Roma.

He has also played eight times for Northern Ireland.

Last year boss Sir Alex Ferguson raved about his potential and said: “He’s got a wonderful temperament.

”He’s quick, he reads the game and he has a good technique on the ball. He’s got everything.”

United 'in shock' at Evans arrest

REELING Manchester United stars were said to be “in shock” last night after a team-mate was arrested on suspicion of rape.

Defender Jonny Evans, 19, was being held in custody in the city.
He presented himself to police after jetting back into Manchester Airport following a day-trip to Monaco, thought to be pre-arranged and with a relative.

A police spokesman said last night: “Detectives investigating a report of rape at a Manchester city centre hotel have arrested a 19-year-old. He was arrested on suspicion of rape this evening after presenting himself to police. He remains in custody.”
Police began an investigation after a 26-year-old woman claimed she had been attacked at the Red Devils’ Christmas party.
She was yesterday taken to a hospital’s sexual assault referral centre, where she was examined by medics.
She gave a brief statement to cops before being allowed home and will be more thoroughly interviewed today.

Some United aces headed to the Christmas do at Manchester’s Great John Street Hotel after a marathon drinking session.
They started Monday lunchtime at the city centre’s 235 casino, where they had a flutter and lunch. They moved to The Grapes pub for a sing-song and some paid a brief visit to a lapdancing bar. They turned up at the hotel where the champagne was flowing. Each United player had been allowed to take a set number of guests.
The swanky venue, where rooms cost between £235 and £395, was hired exclusively for the party by the Premier League soccer giants.
Nearly 100 girls were there, some of whom had travelled hundreds of miles to attend.

One male guest said: “I spoke to one stunner who had come up from London and another who had travelled from Newcastle.“They were gorgeous — it was wall-to-wall babes. Most were aged between 18 and 30 and some were throwing themselves at the players.“The booze was really flowing. Waitresses were handing out pink champagne to whoever wanted it. And the players seemed to be knocking back beer, vodka and whisky.” The guest described the do as a “great party”.
It is the second year the Christmas bash has been held there.
Last year, the team ran up a £43,000 bar bill and the hotel was damaged by guests. Old Trafford bosses were furious after an expensive painting was ripped off a wall and ornaments were destroyed.

3 Man U stars roasted girl No2

THE girl “roasted” by Manchester United players at their Christmas party bragged drunkenly afterwards: They said I was great in bed.

The pretty reveller, aged around 19, had just had sex with five or six men, including three United players.
Their jeers and her moans were overheard by a sickened party guest. She said yesterday:
I was upstairs in the hotel gossiping with a friend when I heard cheering and clapping noises coming from one of the rooms.

We could hear the voices of around five or six men - together with the groaning noises of a girl who was clearly having sex.
The men were shrieking like hyenas and shouting, ‘Get in there’. My mate and I sat shocked as it was so vile.
After a few minutes the men filed out of the room laughing, and rushed downstairs for more booze.

I recognised three of them as members of the Manchester United squad - one of them a well-known name.
The girl then came staggering out boasting she had just had sex with all the men. She was clearly very drunk and very pretty, and probably about 19 years old.
I asked if she was OK and she said, ‘Yeah, of course. Why wouldn’t I be? They said I was a great shag’ and then she hobbled down the corridor.

She looked as if she was in a bit of pain. After that me and my mate left. I was shocked by the idea there had been an orgy at the party. It felt so sleazy.

Details of the sordid session at Manchester’s plush Great John Street Hotel on Monday night emerged following claims by a 26-year-old that she was raped at the bash.
The girl told police that Northern Ireland international Jonny Evans attacked her after she went upstairs with him following a dance.
Evans, 19, has denied the accusation, telling pals: “I didn’t do it.”

Cops have heard about grubby antics including beauties being passed around “like pieces of meat”. One girl is said to have told cops she had sex with up to FIVE different players throughout the night. Others said they were “disgusted” by the sleazy behaviour.

The whole Manchester United first team except Cristiano Ronaldo - away at a World Player of the Year gala in Zurich - were at the do.They included Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs, Rio Ferdinand, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Owen Hargreaves, Louis Saha and Wes Brown. Many revellers visited a casino and a pub before heading to the hotel.
Nearly 100 girls were there including models, ex-soap stars and well-known faces from Manchester’s party circuit. But there were no wives or girlfriends.

Meanwhile United stars tried to put the party scandal behind them as they visited sick children.
Skipper Neville along with Scholes and Hargreaves cheered up kids at Booth Hall Children’s Hospital in Blackley, Manchester. They handed out presents including one to little Huber Tanny, six. Giggs and Rooney joined boxer Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton to raise money for charity at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
Ricky, a keen fan of rivals Manchester City, wore a blue Santa hat while Wayne wore a red one as they gave a present to Josh Hodgin, 11.
The Old Trafford players make hospital visits every Christmas.
