Review of Dre's production on Devil's Night

It seems that Dre has been experimenting with giutars working with a guy named Mike Elizando, he probably had him play some shit for him, and he sampled what he liked for the songs.  It came out really nicely though.  
Another interesing note is that the Truth Hurts is the person your hearing in the background on Nasty Mind.

1.  Revelation- 10- Scott Sorch was also a part of the production for this track, along with Mike Elizando, Dre puts together a 2001 version of Pink Floyd's the Wall, that speaks to todays generation.  Really feeling this track, my favorite on the album.

2. Fight Music- 10- Mike Elazando and Scott Sorch again help Dre out with this track.  You might remember Scott Sorch for his work on Xzibit's album, and Snoop's album, he's a white boy from New York who I believe used to work with the Roots.  The track although loud comes out the speakers really clean, I didn't like this song at first until I heard Eminem and Proof's verses.

3. Nasty Mind- 7- This sounds like a 2001 leftover. Working with Mike Elazando again this time, reminds me of "Xxplosive" off the 2001 album.  A soft track with explcit lyrics all over it.  Kon Artis' verse is what makes this song.

4. Ain't Nuthin But Music- 6- I like the darker tracks on the album.  However I think this song will blow up, and push their sales threw the roof.  Once again, Dre comes in and produces a hit song.  Mike Elazando and Scott Sorch come in again on this track, and Scott Sorch's work on the keyboard is what really makes this song.   It seems Mel-Man was absent in the making of these songs, but Dre produces dope cuts no matter who he's working with. Like Snoop says, "another platinum hit"

I think the production is tight from all 4 main producers - Jeff Bass, Em, Dre and Denaun Porter (Kon Artis).  Good strong album - toss up between Sticky Fingaz and this for my album of the year so far.

Devils Night is tight, but Sticky Fingaz is doper, after about 2 weeks rotation ill be sick of Eminems voice for another year. Purple Pills is gettin rinsed on Tv and radio aswell.

I took it into college and put it on the cdplayer and all i heard was "put purple pills on" and after it finished they said to put the radio on because the rest of the album is not as good (even tho they had never heard it). I guarantee they will all have the album in 6 months time!

I agree the production wasn't all that good. I only really like the tracks Dre did. The rest are not as good except Sghit Can Happen.

i feelin the whole production, none of yall mentioned "blow my buzz" that shit is dope! but the whole album is nice, i think dogg pound is tied for 2nd best of the year and sticky fingaz is still in the lead
and soopafly after taht, then eve    those are what i have got this year, that came out in 2001

what's up y'all. i think your assesment of dre's productions are fair. i'm sure some people are disappointed with the lyrics and quickly tiring topics (as was i), but anyone who thinks the production is weak should listen to some other type of music. the production is top notch and every producer comes through. em does a nice job but bites off dre's style a little too much, but that can be corrected as eminem grows into his prodcution talents. the only track dre was a little disappointed in was nasty mind. but the other 3 are dope as hell. the only people disappointed are people who still can't get over the fact dre has moved past g-funk onto original compositions. like i mentioned before dre will not backdate his talents by going back to g-funk. dre's gonna keep movin on and create new sounds. anyways dre and mike elizando (who has worked with dre since the beginning of aftermath, including a ton of work on 2001) are experimenting in some harder guitar sounds. mike plays many different instruments including all guitars (bass, upright bass, lead, acoustic ) and keyboards. dre likes rock music and has been wanting to put together a black rock band for 5 years. and someday if he finds the right talent he will put it together. dre's really focusing on using a lot of different live instruments and guitar will be used more and more as he expands his sounds and tightens up his musical weapons. dre will delve into more rock and r and b as time goes by so be ready. but dont worry hard core hip hop is still his main sound and always will be. scott storch is a also really talented. he is a incredible piano and keyboard player. and no mel man did not work on any songs as hes been working on other projects.
but devil's night's production is as good as any new album out there. and 3 of the 4 dre tracks are spectacular.

I actually thought the subject matter was more spread out this time. They rapped about alot of different thing. There were only 2 or 3 diss tracks (Girls and Nuttin But Music).

If you actually listen closely to Nuttin but Music - Swifty, Kon Artis and sort of Proof are all saying something worthwhile especially Swifty - they're not cussing they're blaming the media for being too uptight and causing things like Princess Diana's death. And Proof is sort of defending everyone he talks about telling them to beat there cases at the end.
But Eminem, Kuniva (who says the funniest thing on the album in his verse IMO) and as usual Bizzare just straight cuss
