About the Up In Smoke Tour DVD releases...
« on: January 01, 2008, 12:26:44 PM »
i was wondering, which release is the one with the longest runtime?

as far as i know there are 3 dvd releases, a DTS version, a non DTS version and a special release for the psp.

on amazon.com:

http://www.amazon.com/Up-Smoke-Tour-Kaarina-Hazard/dp/B0000524DX/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1199218782&sr=1-1

http://www.amazon.com/Up-Smoke-Tour-DTS/dp/B000063UQR/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1199218782&sr=1-2

it says that the non DTS version has a playtime of 150min. on cduniverse it says that the non DTS-version has a total runtime of 180.min.
as far as googling; some websites say that the non DTS version has a playtime of 120 min. while others say that the DTS version has a playtime of 120. min  :-\ so i'm a bit confused now. i think that the non-DTS version has more runtime, but i'm not 100% sure ( the DTS technology requires some extra space doesn't it? )
would be great if anybody can clear this up  ;)

PS: happy new year  ;)

yeah i noticed that there are a few different covers available as well. it's not hard to figure out which one is the DTS version, since it has the note on the front  :)

but i saw two non-DTS dvd covers; one with smoke on the front, and one with the chronic leaf ( the DTS version also has the leaf right)?

by the way, i thought you said that your DTS version has a playtime of 130 min(approx.)? anyway, hopefully anybody can clear this up  ;)

I got the 120 min DTS version, but there's alot of shit left out from the show. Like Deep Cover, xxxplosive and the NWA reunion after Dre's set. They performed Chin Check at the show I went too at Arrowhead

I think they performed more songs, even Warren & Nate did "Regulate", Tha Eastsidaz were on stage too. I got this old MTV episode of some show (can't rememer right now) Where they are at one of the shows. There's a Dr. Dre, Snoop, Cube, Eminem & Xzibit interview too if i remember right?

Daaamn, it would be dope to see those performances too. But were they ever recorded??

yeh, isnt the DVD recorded just from 1 show? maybe they performed different stuff on different nights.

i am hoping for a world tour if Dre releases Detox.

i didn't expect this topic to die so fast; i guess most (if not all; since it's still unknown whether a 150min. version exists) ppl own the 130min. release.

thanks to the few who tried to help out though.
anyway, i've bought the 130min. version today; couldn't find the 150 min. version anywhere. oh well, it was certainly not a waste of money, especially since the purchase was a dvd "box" ( up in smoke tour + puff puff pass tour).

by the way, does anybody have an approx. number of the sales of the up in smoke tour dvd?
