he uses an MPC3000 (sampling drum machine), theres a picture of one inside the 2001 booklet

in the past he's used a mini moog keyboard, which he can be seen playing in the video for murder was the case

man i would love to tell you all the equipment dre uses but it would take forever. there are 5 or 6 different keyboards and synthesizers, all kinds of guitars and bass instruments and when needed dre can bring in virtually any musical instrument and musicians to play the instruments dre and his team of musicians can't play. "funk orchestra" is a great way to put it. dre has the funds to make any kind of music he wants and can get whatever talent he needs. besideds the instruments there are mixing consols, samplers, drum machine's, computers, electronica instruments, etc.. shit man, it like a musical playground with anything you could possible need. how dre can put it all together like he does is truly amazing. i hope this answers your questions a little. the main thing is that dre is tired of so many people claiming that hip hop is not real music. thats why he got on puffy a bit and is trying to get to making 100% original music. dre wants hip hop to be considered a true art form and hes gonna do his best to make his music as good as any out there. winning the grammy for best producer is as sign that people are truly noticing his genious. a lot of huge record execs think that dre is the biggest talent in all of music and i definetly agree.
