Can DR release unrealeased dre stuff
« on: June 13, 2001, 09:45:29 PM »
I heard a couple of rumors concerining this.  I heard that on the DPG album that Death row will be droping in a month that there will be a song that was produced by DRE and he has a verse on it.  I also heard that on Chronic 2000 was oringinally suppose to have DRE tracks on it but dre took them to court.  Death Row actually won but they fed up wit dre so they decided to have the newer death row artists on there.  Does anyone know for sure what the deal is.

death row cannot release any unreleased Dre material. The song he produced on the 'new' dpg album was released already on the sunset park soundtrack

dre owns all his masters

As long as when Dre produced the rap or rapped on the song he was under contract of Deathrow, unless taken to court over it, Deathrow can release it if they want.

Death Row can re-release any tracks Dre put out while on the label (see: DR Greatest Hits etc), but he owns any unreleased material.

Here's What I've Heard, And This Was Straight From Dre's Mouth (In Interviews, Etc.)... It's Fact, But It Can Be Interpreted Different Ways...

When Dre Left Deathrow, He Left ALL His Masters, And ALL Of His Production Royalties.  He Gets NO MONEY From Deathrow Now, Even For Publishing Rights.  Deathrow Owns Everything Dre Did.  This Is Backed Up By Mellowman, Who Knows Dre.  Remember, Last Week, He Said Only Daz Would Make A Small Amount Of Money Off The dpg Album... This Means That Dre Isn't Being Paid For His Song On There (Because, Like I Said, He No Longer Gets Royalties From Deathrow)...

Dre Left, And According To An Interview With The Source in '98 or so, Suge Came Soon After With A Gang Of His Peeps, To Dre's House And Confiscated Dre's Masters.  Suge Said "I'mHere For The Masters", And Dre Just Handed Them Over.  That's Fact, Dre Talks About It In The interview.

Then, In '99, It Came Out That Dre Upon Leaving D.R. Gave Up All Ownership, And All Publishing, And Was Allowed To Keep

A. His House
B. The Studio IN His House
C. His Car

And That's ALL he Left Deathrow With.  He Signed A Paper To Protect His Artistic Vision; The Agreement Said Deathrow COULD Release His Old Stuff, But

"Only In Their Original Form".

Now, I'm Not Sure What That Means.

When D.R. Tried To Release Dre Songs On The net Last Year, Dre Sued And  Successfully Had Them Removed, Because That Wasn't Their Original Form.

But Pleasebelieve, He DOESN'T have His D.r. masters, He Admitted He Gave Them All To Suge.  Now, Snoop & Daz Probably Have Plenty Of Old Dre Deathrow Stuff, Though.

That stuff about the 'net is right.. you'll never see stuff from the chronic apart from in the form it was in when Dre was there (i.e. on the album or the greatest hits).

Snoop did a clever thing, over the last few albums he remade some of his old death row tracks to try and stop them releasing them.

Another Funny Thing Is On Biggsnoopdoggradio.com, Snoops Official Radio Site, In Their Store They Sell Singles Off Dead Man Walking, Because Snoop & Suge Own The Songs, LOL.

The version on the soundtrack is creditted to Daz - wonder if it was a b-side on a single or something.

or are they fuelling more controversy by saying dre ghost produced it for daz

iraq would just get annexed by iran

That would be a great solution.  If Iran and the majority of Iraqi's are pleased with it, then why shouldn't they do it?

If Suge was smart, he would just re-create all the beats Dre left him on the masters with slightly different insturments....and maybe even use some of the Verses that Dre or any old DR artist, change the lyrics a little and let rappers like Tha Realest or Topp Dogg rap them....

All of you that claims that DR can release Dre´s old shit, explain this:
We all know that DR are more desperate than a motherfucker, so if Suge was able to release this shit, he would have done that a long time ago, before chronic 2000, TGFR and Dogg Pound 2002.

Yall know thats true...

Peace
