EMINEM: HOW MANY OF YA'LL HONESTLY CAN FEEL IT
« on: June 14, 2001, 10:25:38 AM »
It really bothers me that alot of people at this board are sitting back and acting like Eminem's some kind of freakshow or gimmick, and you sit back and hate on everything he says or judge because ya'll can't really feel where he's coming from.

His music isn't for fucking jokes.  It's real shit.  And if he puts comic relief in his music from time to time, it's only because he feels that his message is Universal, and it's someting everybody needs to stand up and take notice of.

For example, the track I'm really feeling right now is "Revelation."   Where he's basically saying that nobody was there for him growing up, and that the only thing that saved him was rap music, for better or for worse.  And you can really hear it in the way he comes across, the emphasis he puts on certain words.  You can't front on that shit.  It's straight from the heart and ya'll need to respect that.

Tracks like Kim, Rock Bottom, If I Had, Brain Damage, Just Don't Give A Fuck, Still Just Don't Give A Fuck, Stan, The Way I Am, etc.

Ya'll can call me a dickrider all you want but this isn't a fuckin joke.  His shit is real.  He grew up and went threw some real shit.  And like he expresses in the track "Revelation" he had a fucked up life, and for better or worse he's going to keep expressing himself threw hip-hop music and relating his successes and failures so ya'll can learn and take something from that, if you can really feel what he's saying.

If you've noticed I haven't replied to any of those anti-Eminem posts.  I don't even read them.  Nothing against the people that wrote them, my best friend says the same things about Eminem, but I just get tired of hearing it.  I was just bangin out to "Revelation" today, and it really touched me, and I wanted to let these people know that Eminem is a real person, who went through real shit, and puts out real music.

dickrider dickrider dickrider  ;D

anyway, i dont like Em cuz he plays into the medias hands and will do anything to sell records. Its all a big publicity stunt, i dont care how real he is, he annoys the shit out of me. I use to like his music before he became a pop star.

and the worst shit is when he acts so sad that the media's in his business and talk about his family and shit, when he knows he started the whole process.

Yeah, I Kinda Feel The Same... I Just Take Up For Him When Peeps Call Him a Faggot, A Wimp, Or Say He Has No Talent...  I Agree He Can Be Annoying, And He's Walking A Thin Line Between Being Brilliant And Being A Gimmick... He Better Switch Up A Little On This Next Album... But It Was More Of The Same In The D-12 Album, So I Guess He's Still Going For Shock Value...

I feel Eminem to a certain extent. When it comes to his rhymin and flow he is great at it. Now subject matter on the other hand needs some work.

I'mma boycott all eminem posts from now on. Its the only way its gonna stop.

The reason Eminem goes for the shock value is because thats what it took to make it big. he mentioned in an interview in Rap Pages that people complained that he sounded to much like Nas on his early work. So he decided to change it up. I am far from the biggest Eminem fan but he deserves more respect than most people give him on this board.

Eminem got skills but all that dissing of popstars is
wack. Cause I think by dissing popstars you become
a popstar yourself. I mean you never hear above the law or Eazy dissing popstars do you?

Eazy was a pop star tho..man i like the disses and shit just because they're still tigt songs but i don't want him to be stuck in this shit, as long as he mixes it up with the crazy shit(Kill you)/stories(my fault)/freestyle(alot of his songs are from freestyles)/anthems(criminal,just don't give a) and his other fortes it'll be all good, the main weakness of MM LP is that almost the whole album was about the same shit,so if he makes his future shit with more variety there shouldn't be no prob.peace-Tanjint

He's a good rapper but I don't like that pop shit. I loved his first album. He turned into a huge pop star on his second album. He kinda lost some respect in my eyes. I still blast songs like Any man, bad meetz evil, and freestyles etc. But that pop shit ain't cool.
