Royce 5'9" "Soldier" vs. Eminem's "Soldier"
« on: January 12, 2008, 01:12:53 PM »
This one is too close to call.  Both these tracks are certified bangers!  The flow, the beat, the concept...

If u got the version of Royce's "Soldier" from Stretch Armstrongs 2001 album its the only dope song on the whole album, and the intro and outro fit perfectly just like track 6 that intro's into Em's soldier.  Royce has the military style drums and Em has the boots stomping....  Two classic songs.

Royce was so dope in 99-2000.  I don't know why he left all his classic underground tracks off of his first album. He left "Soldeir" off, there's another great joint of his that opens with "I wake up and I don't know where I am" and I think maybe that samplen didn't get cleared or something cause that was a deep track, one of my favs of his.  Then there were so many other great songs he left off like "I'm the King" and "The Desert" "Money" "The Throne Is Mine" (made for Dre, never used) and so many others he could of had a classic first album easily.

Starting a better song poll without letting us hear the songs = Epic failure

I'm out of town and stuck on my cell phone internet (sidekick I'D phone)... I can't link or upload anything from this phone.

Royce was husge at Aftermath related forums back when this song came out so I thought people would be more familiar with it.
