even when he went so called thugg life, he was still dropping gems. that black devil suge definitely was a bad influence on him. dont forgot about his background who his mother. pac was a smart nigga. so i prefer pac as pac.

Pac was never a gangsta rapper in my opinion. Pac was always a reality rapper. Gangsta rap is WC, Snoop dogg, DPG, Game, them fuccin clowns!

You shouldn't try to pigeonhole him as either.  2pac was 2pac, and all of those sides were a part of him.

I really enjoyed the Poetic and Concious side of 2pac...I was just listening to "Who Do you Believe in" and this song is so powerful!

  Very well said, couldn't have put it better myself. That's why Pac is the greatest rapper ever, because he had a compicated character, he had many sides and was able to bring every aspect of his personality in his songs.

pac was hip hop's perfect combination of gangsta rap and conscious rap. even for 2008 he was still light years ahead of his time.

I think Pac did both equally as well, I enjoyed the MATW album as much as I did AEOM I think if he had lived longer you would see the more consious Pac rather than the gangsta persona
yeah the good thing about 2pac (imo), was that he could do both.
