INEed Some Help to Make a Sizzlin' Hot Summer CD..
« on: June 13, 2001, 12:09:56 AM »
Aiyyo everybody whattup?  I've been chillin' fo' a minute and I got to thinkin' about makin' a new Compilation CD for dippin' in the summer.  I need some help with it, any opinions are welcome, all I want to create is a dope-ass compilation(possibly 2 CD's in length) that has some diversity to it and that I won't get tired of.  I want some old shit, some new shit, east, west, south, north, whateva' you think deserves to be on a CD strictly for shit like rollin' the streets, hittin' beaches or jus' straight chillin' with da' crew.

I'm already considering these tracks:

Black Rob - Whoa!
Kardi - Husslin' or Bakardi Slang(I haven't decided but it'll only be 1 of the 2)
Ice Cube - Today Was A Good Day
Cube and Dre - Natural Born Killaz(Dunno if I want this on it since it doesn't match what I want for this)
112 - Peaches and Cream(Bassline in this song is bangin')

I would love to make this a double CD with possibly somethin' like a day and night feel to it.  I'll make CD 1 all shit that is uptempo and funky for day time dippin', and CD 2 shit that would be more for jus' layin' back, chillin' and smokin' on a big ol' blunt at the end of the day.

Does this sound like a good idea?  I know with everyone in here combined this could be one of the illest compilations ever created and it could easily end up a double CD set.

Thanx Smooth, I'm buggin' that I actually forgot that song.  Maybe I'll put "Gotta' Get It" and "Bakardi Slang" on it.  Bakardi Slang is ill because it's got a straight Dot feel to it.  If you live around the area you probably know exactly what I mean.

Yo! for summer shit you gotta have like,

Still D.R.E., Big Pimpin, California Love, still a g thang, money ain't a thang, R.Kelly-Fiesta, Xxplosive, and as long as you're gonna have Black Rob you should probably have Despacio on there.

You should also consider Snoop's joint Loosen Control, St. Lunatics-Midwest Swang, and Erick Sermon-Music. Those are some bangin' summer joints right there. Peace, keep it banging.

I'm bumpin' this shit back up.  Come on guys gimme some more help, DJ Stew's lookin' to do somethin' like this too and I'm sure he'd appreciate the help too.  Thanx to everyone who's helped out so far, but Dimu, I don't want an "All West Coast" CD, I want versatility so that I can bump it no matter who I'm with.

So far it's lookin' like this:
Day and Night Compilation

CD 1(A.K.A. - The Day CD, upbeat)

Black Rob - Despacio (I replaced Whoa!)
Kardi - Bakardi Slang
Kardi - Gotta' Get It
112 - Peaches and Cream
Tha Liks - Best U Can

CD 2(A.K.A - The Night CD, laidback)

2Pac, Quik, Outlawz - Late Night
2Pac, Quik, AMG - Late Night 2
Ice Cube - Today Was A Good Day

I haven't checked out all of the songs I don't have yet so there could be more that are listed but haven't been added yet.

Come on everyone, help me out.  I need to get 2 full CD's

De La Soul Featuring Redman "Oooooh, Oooohh"  Tight Song

Nightime: De La Soul Featuring The Teenage Fan Club : 'Fallin'

I Also Agree On "Did Yall Feel That" By Quik For The Nightime CD...

One Of The GREATEST Ever Nightime, Crusin In Your Car Songs Is "You Know How We Do It" By Ice Cube...

Hope That Gives You Some Ideas :)

Thanx Trauma.  I forgot all about Cube's "You Know How We Do It".  I've got De La Soul AOI:Mosaic Thump and I still bump it a lot so I don't think I'd waste time on the CD to put "OOOHHHH, OOOHHHH!".  It's an ill song though, so is "You Don't Wanna B.D.S(Bus' Dat' Shit)" De La and Freddie Foxxx, and "The Art of Getting Jumped" by De La.

Keep the help comin'.

For the night Cd you should probably have Gin and Juice, or, if you're looking for east coast for either CD the Beatnuts/No Escaping This or Watch Out now, (or both). Keep it real.
