Happy Anniversary
« on: January 22, 2008, 12:05:13 PM »
It was 2 years ago today when God slipped on a #8 Lakers jersey and gave us basketball fans the single greatest performance that we will ever wittness in our lifetime. Although the haters looked for any excuse to down play this breathtaking display of greatness, the real ones know that no one else will ever come close to doing what he did. Enjoy...

81 Points (28/46 FG, 18/20 FT), 6 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 3 Steals, 1 Block

Amazing.

I was supposed to go to that game (as well as Game 4, where Kobe hit the game winner vs. the Suns), and I still slap myself every time I see highlights.

I'll never forget that night myself. I wish my Grandpa could have stuck around just a little longer to see that.

For the 81 point game, I was in Vegas. Wanted to leave early to catch the game at Staples, but I ended up staying and watching the game on TV...for the Lakers-Suns Game 4, I had a pair of tix for Games 3 and 4 and had to get rid of one pair, so I sold the ones to Game 4 and went to Game 3.

america loves a solid number, 100.  and Wilt > Kobe when it's all said and done.

and the NBA hasn't had "real competition" for some ten to 15 years lol
