Dre to deliver next album in 5.1 surround sound

Though Dr. Dre has yet to set a date for the release of his fourth studio album Detox, he has already begun conceptualizing some of the special effects to be included on the anticipated record.

The influential producer behind hip-hop superstars Eminem and Snoop Dogg says that Detox will be recorded in 5.1 surround sound. "When you listen to a record, you basically have left and right, you know what I'm saying? It's going to give me a whole new world to deal with. For instance, you could be listening to my record, and hear a car go by in the background, you know what I'm saying? Behind you. Just maybe a low rider bouncing by, behind you, or some sh-t like that," he explains. "The helicopter I had in this song on my last album is just going left to right. This time it'll be able to spin around your head. If a bomb is dropping, it will be able to go from left front to right rear. It'll sound like it's going over your head. It's just going to give you a whole new world of recording. A whole new way of listening to records."


Sounds tight as hell. That shit really could add another dimension to music, and trust Dre to be at the forefront of it all. Fuck knows how long we'll have to wait for that album though.

yea i heard about this, itll be amazing if ha can pull it off, and knowing dre im sure he will.

imagine how long its gon take to mix tho, Dre said he can mix regular songs for days, so with this added dimension itll take even longer. im sure that album wont be out for a while, itll be worth the wait tho

Producing An Album Is Deciding How It Should Sound... I.E. Notes, Instruments, Melodies, Etc.  You MAKE It (Produce It)...

Mixing Means You Decide What Volume Certain Instruments Are in Relation To Others (I.E., Making The Drums At The Beggining Of "Big Egos" Hit Harder Than The Other Instruments) And Also Placing The Instruments In The Listener's Field, Like He Said, Making The Helicopter Fly By... And If You've Ever Listenend To "Let Me Ride" On Headphones, You Know That "Rollin' In My Six-Fo" Line Is In Stereo, With Snoop All Around You Saying It...

Just Little Stuff Like That, It Really Touches Off The Record.

Also, Peep "Tha Doggfather"... HORRIBLY Mixed, You Can Barely Hear Snoop's Voice... All His Other Albums Were Pretty Well Mixed, They Mixed His Voice Louder (Which It Should Be) Than The Beats, Since He's Soft Spoken.

Yeah i agree... Tha Doggfather was really badly mixed... on certain songs you can barely hear Snoops voice... please believe if Dre was mixing that CD it would be hella tight
