BigJake's Opion: Cash Money Records

i'm gonna try to start somthing where i state my opinion on certain cliques and MC's in hip hop and where i stand with them (if i like them or not) If your gonna get offended by them then don't trip it's just my opinion
ok now Cash Money Records:
ok i will admit that when they came out they brought a fresh sounds with them..i mean bragging went to a new extreme with them and it was kinda refreshing to hear somthing new...but that was what like 2 years ago and it's the exact same thing..."when i floss these platnum dub i get platnum hugs" gosh i'm so sick of that kinda shit, hey it's ok for about 1 or 2 songs, hey maybe 3 if you don't over do it but album after album , song after song...that's a lil bit too much, then when they do try to expand and talk about somthing else it's corny...like that lil wayne song, hey i feel for the guy losing his dad and all but that song is really cheesy...i think the whole Hot Boy Clique is just a novilty act
But i got to compliment the productin Manny fresh produces every single track that leaves the cash money offices, and does it well he's brought a new sound to rap that's not too bad and can be at times just as good as some of the best producers out...also to add he doesn't believe in sampling at all, i mean that's very respectable to produce hundreds of songs a year keep the production fresh without sampling i'll aplaud that
the whole mentality of cash money though is really just a phase i really can't think of any MC on that lable with credible MCing ability, and no matter how good Mannie Fresh might be he's not going to get anywhere really using the same sound and sticking with the same MC's, plus on the business side of things everything is packaged the same cake is good but your going to tire of it and throw up if you keep eating it I will admit i like a couple of songs that's came out from them (get your roll on, numba one stunna, follow me now) but the same formula they use in all those songs is the same thing they use in 99% of the rest of their catelouge...it wears itself thin...i'm ghoast that's my opinion and i'm sticking to it

good post, i agree with everything u said.
just like hip hop fads before them, cash moneys 15 minutes (or 2 years) of fame will end soon enough and there aint shit they can do about it.

i just felt like sayin this..
turks album is pretty good...
alot of new cats are on it..mack 10 sounds aight on one of them songs
they have chicks rappin/singin wit them now...they have a male r&b group...then they have like 5 other people that formed another group..
so their finally, gettin new voices and shit..
juveniles new single is dope...
and their albums arent usually all about "bling bling"...its usually broken down wit like 3 or 4 straight flossin songs...3 or 4 "shoot em up, and rob u" songs, 3 or 4 party joints wit everything mixed..and 3 or 4 ridiculously wack songs where they try something different...
oh well..dont expect them to ever change..

I thought Juevenile was off Cash Money. Him and Tyrk are the only ones with potential on that God forsaken label.

Heres my opinion:
1.
Mack 10
: The best on the lable
Reason: He is the tightest, & brings nice West Coast Flava' (Which takes away from the Southern style of clique). He also had 2 near classic albums ("Mack 10" and "Based On a True stroy") Some might cosider those 2 classics...But I really haven't heard a lot of his shit from Cash Money, so maybe I'm too early to judge hime, because he might completely change his style, and start changing the subject (Bling etc)
2.
Mannie Fresh
: the second best from the clique
Reason: produces every song on every Cash Money album all from scrap, and usually brings tight and original production...
3.
Juvenile
: number 3
Reason:Rarely talks about Bling, and has SOME lyricall skill..."400 Degreez" was aight and Bling-less...But he left Cash Money, which really took away a lot from the clique...
4.
Young Turk
: number 4
Reason: rarely talks about Bling, and has SOME lyricall skill, like a young Juvenile with a nicer flow...
5.
Lil Wayne
number 5
Reason: Whack lyrics, very nice flow though...
6.
BG
number 6
Reason: Mostly whack, but has an aight flow...
7.
Baby
number 7
Reason:Sux big fat dick and has an anoying voice, good for nothing, and takes away from the group...
So basically, they can re-create themsleves to being and OK lable...All they have to do is get rid of Baby, get back Juvenile, and stop bullshiting about the bling...LOL, sounds like it will never happen, because they got Platnum stuck in their brains...
BTW...nice post Jake...

agree with u jake.........
they are trying to change though...
they have mack 10 now...and im sure they will come with a new sound or a new direction....i dont buy there stuff...some of there songs were tight..but i get tired of "...im rich...im rich..and i can buy this and that....." yeah..roll through here..flossin like that..and see what happens..........fine line between flossin and flauntin..........
No Limit had there Fame......Cash money had theres......it is over now.......it is Aftermath/Doggystlyle now....

I liked Juvenile "HA". However I've always thought they wack and I just couldn't buy there stuff. I was sucked into buying the g code from all the radio play and it was the wackest thing I have heard from the south. I sold it immediately.
Mannie produces good beats sometimes but I won't ever buy anything from them. There time is almost up.
