What do you really think of Will.i.am ?

I used to like him as a beatmaker and even as an mc,these 2 records are dope as fuck


His beats on these 2 works are AWESOME,i know the Bep now are no more a hh group but for his solo album i had some high hopes but it turns out to be pure trash from the first to the last song,and i laugh LOUD when i see a "review" like this one :

Will.i.am is an innovator for todays music. He created his own lane and personifies the image of a great musician. This cd is a prime example of the risks that he takes in music. This album definitely shows his growth as an artist and a producer.This album is different, creative, inspiring and a breath of fresh air.

Now can y'all tell me what's different,fresh and innovative about his first solo album ?

^^well you have to accept the fact that is somebody opinion after listening to the said album an comparing it to others that were popular at that time!
Besides Wiil.I.Am in-corporated a lot of styles outside of Hip Hop,hence the use of the word 'innovative'
I read somewhere that he wants to be Music Producer not just a Hip Hop producer

I liked this album...some actually orcestrated produced tracks not some boring typical synthies or sampled type of tracks either...this is def for the people who listen to more then just hardcore hip hop

Will.I.AM is a super talented producer, and has the talent to be a decent mc too, but like everyone on here probably thinks, his hip hop shit is way better than his pop shit... both those albums on the top of the thread as well as the first 2 black eyed peas cds were the Sheeeit!!  Tell you the truth tho, even his pop shit aint that bad, just can't really get into it on a regular basis.  I would really like to see him to a compilation with all westcoast artist the old west and the new cats too!!  <----Somebody make this happen!!!
