Diggidy Daz's Melodies
« on: June 01, 2001, 11:59:40 AM »
Hey Yall;
 I Just Wanted To Know What Everyone Thought Of Daz's Melodies... Maybe We Can Agree On Somethin'... By Melody, I Mean Like The Way The Notes Of The Hook Sound... For Instance, On A Song Like "What's The Difference", There's No Vocal Melodies On The Hook, The Guy's Just Rappin'...  But Then Take A Song Like "Dogg Pound Gangstaz" Off The New Daz & Kurupt Album... On The Hook, You Got Daz Goin' "Dogg Pound GANGSTAZ Baby, Dogg Pound Gangstaz, Gangstaz"... It's A Nice Lil' Melody...

Daz Is Always Throwin' In Lil' Melodies Like That, In His Songs... Like On Track 3, He Throws In That "What Wuld You Do If You Could... Get Wit My Crew, Baby? What Would Ya Do If You Could Get Down Wit Tha Dogg Pound?"   Then You Got Stuff Like "Who's Knockin' At My Door" On R.A.W. , Where The Hook has A GREAT Melody...

I'd Say As Far As Writing Melodies, Daz Is Second Only To Maybe Dre And Nate Dogg... They Write Some Bomb-ass Melodies...
Kokane's Melodies Are Good Too...
What Chall Think?

Lil Half Dead is dope with melodies too, especially on his first cd.

thats alyays been the thing thats attracted me most about daz' music he has ALWAYS been on point with melodies....

same with dre tho....their level pegging as far as melodies are concerned in my opinion

'bang bang' was one of the illest melodies in a long while.....but the new dpg more than matches it on several occasions...

okay NIK, first of all i agree that over-all Daz consistently has better melodies than dre not better beats but when dre has a tight melody it's tighter than anyones.2nd that quote from coastin wasn't even melodic, he just rapped that.
3rd: cyco lic no's chorus was obviously snoop and wasn't melodic,just computer voiced. But i suppose since daz produced it he could have worked out the chorus..i think the best production melodies are from dre,warren g,daz,quik. the best vocal melodies from RAPPERS would be snoop,warren g,quik,daz,eh forget it too many..peace-Tanjint

I'm talking about the beats in the back of the melodies that make it more of a melodie...
