Absolutely not. That is not to say that there is not a sport. I'm mean its no less athletic a game than golf and golf is considered a sport. I would say that nascar is a sport but the competitors are definitely not athletes

racing cars is actually very physically straining, and i consider any kind of competition a sport, cheerleading, chess, nascar, etc.
