The homie wcsoldier already explained it well. It's not about who's the best player. It's about matchups. It's like a chess game. Diop was their only good defender inside, and Harris is a very promising PG anyway, who can run, play up-tempo basket and try to defend one on one against Iverson, Paul and Parker. Very very bad trade. They loose those two pieces of the puzzle to get Kidd. Don't get me wrong: Kidd is God, but he won't really improve Dallas dramatically. Like wcsoldier said, they needed a post presence.

Kidd's style Of play He Can Ball Until he's 40+ prob.
Danm, 34 is Old Now?
People act like he's Bout' to kick over & Die...lol

But IMO, Dallas is giving up way Tooooo Much For Kidd... (And Malik Allen)
That Being said, I Support This trade for The Mav's.
I Can't Knock it Cause How can anyone Say A Jason Kidd Led "Motiviated Team" will be worse off?
Kidd Will defo make this team better, But The lack of a REAL big man inside will be their downfall.

Harris is/Was their future & I would have thrown in Terry in a heartbeat instead, But Dallas is looking at the Here & Now!
How Long can This team continue to win & stay relevent in a western conference that keep's getting better & better everyday.

N.O. coming on, Portland ect..
Devean George Will Come around eventualy, Money talk's.
Dude just want's to know what's up with More $, and what his role will be in  N.J.

I think I heard Somewhere (IF The Deal Goes down) that Stackhouse will eventualy be let go by N.J. on waiver's
and Then Dallas will Quickly scoop him back up.

Fuck it, bring Kidd on.

It's not even about the age, really...Look at how his stats have decreased every year for the past 6 years. It's like all he's good for now is passing the ball, and he's amazing at that, but he's just not someone you trade two of your core players for (one who's a potential future all-star)...not at this stage of his career, at least.

I feel That bro..
But I Don't Think Dallas was/is Thinking about The 16+ Point's a Game Kidd They had as a ROY..
They are looking at The Possibility of a Floor leader who Can Spoon feed Dirk in The playoff's, Cause Dirk Seem's to wear Down Come Playoffs.
+ Jason Still Putting it Down with The Triple Double Type number's it may only be 11.3pts 10.4 Assists & 8.10 rebounds..
But That's All it will take In Dallas IMO. + Kidd can prob Step up his scoring if he need's too.

It makes Dallas Worth watching From a fan's Stand Point, I Was Bored of Their Lineup already.  ;D

On a side Note, My man G. Hill Still ballin'...
I still remember when Kidd & Hill = Rookies of the year. (Nostalgia)
(It Was Dope To see Hill Playing well Tonight, & Kidd in The news Today)

Talking about matchups , one more reason Dallas needed a big :

Dirk will have to defend both Pau and Amare after Suns and Lakers trades ...  :-X

Yea...Grant Hill still has it. Dude is provin' all the haters wrong. Which brings me to my next point- Hill is injury free. He's in the same spot career-wise as Jason Kidd...Would you trade all those players for Grant Hill? It's not about numbers and whether or not they still have it...it's about window of opportunity...We know they're still ballin', but when you make a trade like this, you gotta factor in whether they're past their prime or not. How much more can Kidd help the Mavs than a Devin Harris (10 years younger)? Devin Harris' dribble penetration and point guard defense is a very big part of the success the Mavs were having. Is it worth gambling that away for a guy who has no more than a couple years left in the (already subsiding) tank? I don't really think so.

Like wcsoldier just said, seems to me like the Mavs need a big more than a point guard...and they're actually including their most efficient big in this deal! :-X

yeah, when I look at this again...Dallas would more then likely be hurting during playoff time. They still have no one to contend with Duncan, and if we think back to the 2003 finals....Jason Kidd in his prime could not stay in front of Tony Parker. If Parker gets healthy and we face them in the playoffs Jason Kidd might retire midseries. They will be basically turning themselves into the Suns with this trade and have no other option BUT to run. And we see where that gets the Suns.

^^^^^ that's why it's a silly trade ... before this trade , Mavs were able to both run and play halfcourt .. now I dont see how they can be efficient on the halfcourt set against the Suns, Lakers and Spurs .. plus Dirk can be early in foul trouble .. if I am the Lakers or the Suns , I go early with Gasol and Amare against Dirk .. that's a huge mismatch imo because both can D Dirk (anyways they wont be in foul trouble by contesting Js ) better than he can defend both

Yep, they lose too much in this trade. A big man and a quick, defensive point guard. Kidd can still run that fast break pretty good, but it's way more up-tempo in the West, with Phoenix, Golden State, and the good guard combos with the Lakers, Spurs, and Hornets. That's a lot of work for a player of Kidd's age, no matter how talented he is. They already got knocked off by the Warriors and their fast pace last year, so I don't see this working out too well for them. By the way, when I saw that Devean George blocked this trade, I started laughing. One of the funnier moments I can remember in recent sports.
I got a bird's eye view

to the people who are saying that dallas shouldnt of made the deal, r u for real? i mean seriousley are you right in the head? you do releaise the nets were going to buy out stackhouse and he'd resign for dallas? ok harris is ten years younger then kidd but dallas are wanting to win it now **se the phoenix and lakers trades**. saying trading for a guy who damm near averages a tripple double is bad is just ludacris. plus kidd plays some of the best all round defence in the league (although harris is no slouch) should the trade not work out then after a couple of years kidd will retire and dallas will sign a top level free agent? whats the problem? no offence but laker fans are sooooo funny to me? they have something to say about nearly every trade involving another team and its alllllwaaaayyyyssss negative. LMAO at saying getting kidd is a bad move.

and people saying kidd is no god! on the other side of the coin either is harris. Theres no guarantee he's going to improve. his style of play would ususally suggest he'l regress.

Well.. obviously. I was talking in general. Kidd at this age can't stop Paul, Nash, Parker, etc..

Harris at least can try to stay with his man one on one..

Laker fans? What are you talking about, son? You realize that everyone on this board disagreed with this trade, including Mav fans, correct? Quit speakin out your ass. Everyone gave good reasoning as to why this is a horrible trade on the Mavs part. All you can say is "KIDD AVERAGES ALMOST A TRIPLE-DOUBLE, YIPEEE!!!"...Come on, now. You know damn well that giving up a 24 year old all-star caliber point guard and your best big man is insane. If Kidd would make them contend now, that's a different story, but he wont... they'd actually be setting themselves back for not only the future, but for the now as well...PeACe

I wonder why the hell New Jersey cares about Devean fucking George? And if Dallas really wants this, why don't they just throw in someone like Eddie Jones or Juwan Howard instead? I mean, how much value does George really hold to block a deal like this?...LOL

the trade is gonna go through...George just wants his paper. But he will go to NJ.
