Nani showboat against Arsenal in FA CUP

MANCHESTER UNITED ace Nani has been warned he could get another good kicking if he continues with his showboating antics.

The Portuguese star wound up Arsenal by playing keepy-uppy towards the end of his starring show in the 4-0 FA Cup fifth-round thrashing.
Moments later, a clearly frustrated William Gallas took a kick at Nani and could now face an FA charge. But Gunners midfielder Gilberto insists the United winger faces more of the same if he continues to show off. The Brazilian was seen having a quiet word with Nani as Arsenal — already down to 10 men after Emmanuel Eboue’s red card — lost their rag.

Gilberto said: “Some of our guys were upset that he did that. It was important for us we didn’t lose control and lose another man.
“I just spoke to him and told him it wasn’t necessary for him to do that. I told him he could get a bad kick doing that.
“In these type of situations I do my best to calm down my team-mates because we need all of them on the pitch to fight for the team.”
Arsene Wenger and Alex Ferguson both agreed Nani had gone a step too far. Arsenal boss Wenger said: “He was very good — but that was not needed. It was a little bit disrespectful.
“Young players want to show what they can do and I just hope he learns from it and he won’t do it again.” United chief Ferguson said: “I agree I think he shouldn’t be doing that, he doesn’t need to do that. “In some ways it shows a great deal of courage to do what he did — that’s one side of it. But you don’t need to do that and I’ve had a word with him about it.”

The FA will wait for the report from referee Alan Wiley before deciding whether to take action against Gallas.
But the Frenchman seems certain to face a charge and Ferguson reckons it would be fully justified.
He said: “I thought Gallas should have been sent off. The referee must have a look at that again.”

WHAT!!!!! WHAT???!!!??

I cant believe the uproad about this. This is unberlievable. So what he fucking ran off with the ball and did a few tricks, its football. Surly any trick is a showboat and piss take at the opponent, therefore if everyones in uproar about this then every trick has to be looked at.

The dude controlled the ball with his head and he had a player right behind him, therefore if he would of put the floor he would of most likely been challenged. He done a few headers, a keepy up and put the ball down. Even if that was in Arsenals penalty area there should not be a problem with it. If Nani did that against Everton I would be applauding him for it. Fucking disgracful people, players, and mangers telling him not to do it. I honestly would of just said fuck off, we are 4-0 up, I deserve to do a bit of showing off if I want to. Even though I dont exactly think he was showboating, as I said before it was really the only thing he could do to get out of the situation.

If players are going to react cos other players use skill to beat them, then fuck it. Gallas, should of been sent off for the kick IMO. Whoever it was that Nani ran away from during the skill should of been booked. Flamini's tackle on Nani was fine. Nothing wrong with putting a strong challenge in.

Fuck everyone who says he shouldnt of done it, seriously.

Shit like this happens in every sport mate. I dunno much about basketball but I remember someone posted up a video of a fight sparked bcoz someone just took a shot i.e. attempted to score when his team were miles ahead just before the final buzzer.

Personally I don't think you should be taunting folk, it's unprofessional. And if you are gonna do it, expect reprocussions.

4-0 up, pass the ball about, get the crowd behind you cheering every pass. Fair enough - see the game out.

But what Nani did is taking it too far.

Stupid, absolutely stupid. If other players cant handle the fact that another player is using a bit of skills during a game then thats their problem. Its not rubbing your opponents face in it, its just doing something you want to do at that moment, gets the crowd going, gets you hyped, your 4-0 up, you deserve to have fun with it.

As I said earlier, every trick is therefore a showboat and technically youre rubbing your opponents face in it. Has nothing to do with being professional. Who cares? So Nani cant use skills that hes practiced for years on because Arsenal players cant accept it. Fuck right off.

Usually you're on point with most of your football viewpoints but to be honest you're acting like an 8-year-old on this matter.

The fact that no-one has leaped to his defence speaks volumes. Even Fergie (a cunt who I hate) has come out and said he shouldn't have done it.

The "I'll do what I want, when I want" kind of mentality isn't gonna fly. There are rules both written and unwritten.

I'd like to see what Kuruption and other folk have to say on this matter coz I have the slight suspicion I'm not gonna make you change your mind no matter how much reason, fact and logic I throw at you.

If you really feel that way and have a big "fuck you" for anyone who thinks it is unprofessional, fair enough. Each to their own.

the fuck you wasnt necessary I admit, lol.

When I watch football I want to see shit like that. Players who are not bothered and just do it cos they can. I will stand by the fact that Nani used skill to get away from Arsenal, not just to showboat. If Arsenal cant handle it then thats their fault. Fact is mate, the rules are unwritten because there are no rules about it. Tricks and showboating is allowed, therefore you, Alex Ferguson, Wenger, Gilberto, are all wrong. Im right :)

When Rooney played for us (Everton) against West Brom, he put his hands on his hips. Its a showboat yeah, its a bit of a piss take yeah, but fuck it who cares. The only people that should get wound up are the West Brom players and fans, same in this instance. The only people who should get wound up are Arsenal. But youre 4 nil down, therefore if you want to show off a bit, fuck it. Do it. As Ive said before if Nani did that against Everton I wouldnt be bothered. And for a fact you know if it was against someone like Everton, nobody would even be bothered. Its just because it was Arsenal.

At the time when i was watching it i thought someone is going to hack him any min, players dont like to be embarrassed.

I dont think he intentionally meant to embarrass anyone, at the start all he could was head the ball and then bring it down.

What i find hugely ironic is arsene wenger getting all upset , mainly due to the fact that Henry used to do this type of thing all the time. He never once criticised him, look at this vid i only watched the first 30 seconds and you see him juggle the ball a few times

I dont think talanted players should be criticised for showing up opposition players .

Wenger also wants to deflect the attention from his team. Rather than criticising his players for once again losing there cool when things arent going well, he wants to try and act like there actions were justified as they were "provoked" by someone juggling the ball  :yikes:

Actually I'm all for show and tricks in football. I didn't like what he did - simply cause it was against my team, and I fucking hate Man U.
But I don't really see why they had to make such a big deal about it.

Its good to see what tricks all the skillful players are capable of. I can't see anything wrong with what he did. If it was the opposite way round i would of admired it too.
