Suge Knight Arrives At Last Stop Before Freedom

Death Row Records chief to serve final months of federal sentence in Oregon.

After a month of jail hopping, Death Row Records chief Marion "Suge" Knight has arrived in Sheridan, Oregon, where he will serve his final days as a prisoner.


The record mogul had been shuffling between facilities since April 20, when he completed a state sentence for violating probation by assaulting a man in a Las Vegas hotel. State officials turned Knight over to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, because the Las Vegas assault also violated his probation in a 1994 federal gun case.


While waiting for the feds to determine his new home, Knight spent a month in Sacramento (California) County Jail and then spent last weekend in the Federal Correctional Institution Dublin, also in California. He arrived at Oregon's Sheridan Federal Correction Facility on Tuesday, said Randsom Ali, Sheridan's public information officer.


The good news for Knight is that the month he spent in transit counts toward his federal time, Ali said. The facility has not assigned a release date for Knight, but Ali said he would be a "short-termer." Death Row spokesperson Jonathan Wolfson said Knight owes 63 days, making his release date June 22. However, Knight's lawyer, Robert Shapiro, said through his secretary that he will serve about 100 days.


Knight has been locked up since late 1996 as a result of the Las Vegas assault, which occurred just hours before Death Row's star rapper, Tupac Shakur, was killed in a drive-by shooting. The assault violated Knight's state probation on a 1992 conviction for attacking two aspiring rappers at a recording studio, as well as his probation in a federal case in which he pleaded no contest in 1994 to trafficking firearms.


Knight will be on state parole after his release, but it was unclear what restrictions he will face.


Death Row Records was a dominant force in hip-hop for much of the '90s before suffering a series of blows, including Shakur's death, Knight's incarceration and the departures Snoop Dogg and label co-founder Dr. Dre.

I got out early last year...........
and my partna in crime just got out of that federal prison on May 2nd....haha.......I am going to send some of my boyz up at that prison a letter to see whats up with suge...and if he has talked to anybody...this is some shit..i will get back to ya'll i got some letters to write!!!!!  


hmmmmmmmmm wonder if i should see if anybody should shank him.......hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm  <devilish grin>

some people that went down with me got like 30 years...20 years and shit....11 years.....

Drugs.....Weed to Coke from canada to mexico, cali...nevada......u name it....

was apart of a ring based out of mexico that was movin shit up and down the west coast........it was cool while it lasted.......believe me all those stories are correct...fast cars...fast women....exotic places....but the shit finally caught up to us...but the judge was nice, we had to do boot camp for 6 months then our prison term...put it this way..boot camp will make u relize shit in a hurry!!!!!!!!!!

haha..yeah i was just kidding...my days..of runnin in with the law are over....except for the times i get pulled over for nothing......but........

yeah....me and my boy plan to go and visit some friends at Sheridan Prison at the end of June...or beginning of July...so if he is still there..who knows......


He is livin the good life....this is a new federal prison....everything is state of the art..just that it is in the middle of nowhere!

its soo far out there..that for the low security inmates.....there is no fence surrounding the compound for them......if they really wanted they could walk, run crawl off....but they dont.....now the big boys.........lol we were surrounded by fences....doggs.....lol and they put a ditch around the damn building.......
