for any producers with pc equipment (as opposed to anything bigger in scale) out there...what would be the best usb midi drum controller for a complete noob in production whos looking to start up some stuff on pc applications. ive been looking at the akai mpd24, mpd32 (brand new) and the korg padkontrol...

anyone with any exeperience on any of these pads and what software/soundcard set-up they use too? would be appreciated 8)

i wouldnt buy a drum machine, useless hardware. spend it on reason, then if u want a midi system get an m-audio interface (m-box) bundled with protools. most professional good sounding rap music use both reason and protools. any other hardware should be a keyboard.

Maybe try a Korg MicroKontrol.  It's a drum pad and a keyboard all in one.
