Eminem fans may soon be able to read all about their favourite rapper's life, as news emerged that he is working on his autobiography.

Entitled Eminem: The Way I Am, the memoir is scheduled to be released in the UK on October 16, according to a statement from the Orion Publishing Group.

"Everyone has their own take on Eminem. Because of where he is from, people think they know where he is at, and what kind of person he really is," Orion senior commissioning editor Ian Preece said in the statement, released to E!

"This book cuts through all that and gets to the source. It has an edge."

The book is expected to chronicle the 35-year-old hip-hop star's rise from a Detroit trailer park through to his award-winning albums, looking at his tempestuous personal life, including two failed marriages to wife Kim.

It could also contain never-before-released photos, rare hand-drawn art, journal notes and the artist's reflections on his career.

However, Eminem's record label Interscope said that word about the project was "inaccurate", as it is a work in progress.

"There is no firm release date scheduled, although it is anticipated to arrive in the latter part of the year," Interscope Records said in a statement.

Snoop had a really nice autobiography back in 98.

Maybe since Em has lost his hunger and skills as a rapper, a book project looking back over his career is the best thing for him now. 

Strange thing happened to me, I used to listen to his Slim Shady LP album nearly everyday back in 99, and I tried listening to it a few weeks ago, and I wasn't feeling any of the tracks on there.  His other albums I still felt, but that first one doesn't hit me anymore.

Same here. It's called not standing the test of time. MMLP still holds up though.

...although I always thought SSLP would stand the test of time, but I guess not.  Back in 99 I remember I had to go to the SSLP concert myself because everyone thought he was just a one hit wonder when he first came out.  I couldn't understand why nobody seemed to like the album.  Now I don't even feel the album.  Although I was correct in arguing that he had true credibility as an artist.

Useless book.  He's already told anything interesting in interviews or songs, all of his music is to a fault way too personal, I can't imagine that anybody besides a psycho would want to read this shit.
