We knew this. I believe E-White, Bad Azz, and others have all ghost wrote for him at some points. I wish we knew specifically which songs he has a ghostwriter for and which ones he doesn't and who is doing the ghostwriting. I don't mind if rappers like him who are already big get a young hungry cat to write their material for them. It's up and coming cats that should never have one.

I wouldn't really even call it a ghostwriter.  He credits the writers on everything, and he's said in nearly every interview about this last album that he's letting all kinds of other people write for him on it.  What's the big deal?  Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra never wrote 1 hit.  Two of the greatest of all time.

In hip-hop you have to write every bar, play every instrument in the song and have lived every lyric otherwise you're Milli Vanilli.

It's a rule that Hip-Hop has that many other genres don't.  Mary Wells and the Temptations had huge hits written by Smokey Robinson and everybody involved was acknowledged for the success.  That can't happen (there's only a few exceptions) in Hip-Hop because it's all about image and "being real".  It's the same thing as saying this guy is not a producer because he didn't play the flute.

On the other hand, don't call yourself a lyricist if you don't write your own lyrics.

So what? We all know tat Snoop writes stuff too....I mean Snoop and D.O.C use to write for Dre. Snoop wrote last album. He gives credits. No big deal. 'cause if anyone got a problem, then they have a problem with some of the worlds greatest music artists ever. I agree that only a young cat shouldn't have ghostwriters....

and with Hip-hop comment, man not many people play thier own instruments...some do, and at times, but hip-hop started, and will always be primarily based on samples...

On point homie! I for one get disappointed when I hear that one of my favourite artists do not write their own lyrics, i feel as if I've been lied to( Sorry, but i take this way too serious). If Snoop is doing a song with Dre, and he got DOC writing for him, what does snoop bring to the table? Dre is producing and mixing, Doc is writing his lyrics.. It just feels wrong to me, and I know this is how very many of today's and yesterday's pop acts are done, and that's probably why I can't stand it.

Like in Norway, where i used to reside, you had this dude, who broke through with the help of pop Idol. He then toured the country with three other famous Norwegian musicians, doing songs like "Hallelujah" and other known hits. They did not write any of the stuff, they just performed the hits. When he got back from the tour he said he felt burnt out, and needed a rest. Burnt out from what homie? Singing and playing what other people already created? `the fuck outta here..

I love DJ Quik, he writes and produces his own stuff, and it feels way more real than Snoop reciting what some other dude wrote down on a piece of paper.

I understand that there are people who don't give a fuck who wrote what, as long as it sounds dope, and I respect you! Just my two cents
