Earthquake in England!
« on: February 26, 2008, 07:16:15 PM »
My house shook at about 1am tonight! Just checked everything out before and it turns out there was a large Earthquake that was felt by most of England. Crazy. I was actually on the toilet at the time and my bathroom shook, I just thought I was having a really large shit but it turns out the quake was hitting. Crazy. Felt like a plane was about to crash on me while I was taking a dump!

last night was well crazy. i was watching tv, about to drop off to sleep when the whole house began to shake. tv rocking side-to-side, chest of drawers were swaying about aswell... then it stopped. i thought it was just me who had felt it, thinking my boiler had blown up or something. yeh, i know it sounds stupid as fuck but when does England have earthquakes that can actually be felt around the whole of the country??

Yeah I mean it's not a big deal for most of the world but it's extremely uncommon for us to get earthquakes. Impossible I actually thought. Well not impossible, but it just doesn't usually reach us.

That would suck if England had a big one.  All the old brick buildings would just crumble into dust.

Do new buildings over there have to be built to withstand earthquakes?

It was really random , i was just chilling in my room when suddenly all the walls started shaking and the light was swinging everywhere.

In all honesty i never expected to experience an earthquake in england.
