yeah Doggystyle is a big catalog seller it has sold well through the years just like "The Chronic" which itself is over 5 million in the US

yeah i guess i misread the info on wiki about the sales; besides, Ronin Ro's Dr.Dre- Biography only listed that the Chronic was certified triple platinum (november 3,1993) and Doggystyle certified 4x platinum (may 31,1994) so thanks for the info 

anyway, going from six times platinum for doggystyle to not even go 2x platinum for doggfather is a huge downfall; i know snoop had the murder case, but still 
something must have went wrong with the promotion; by the way, was this album supposed to come out earlier?

Death Row hasn't recertified either album, they are still listed as 3 and 4 to this day thanks to our friend Suge, as for "Tha Doggfather" I think the Makaveli album came out a week before and really overshadowed it as well as 2Pac's death and also Snoop did not have that "crossover" single on that album just basically the hardcore fans that bought it

you gotta notice that soundscan and the other institutions don't count units sold in swap meets n shit. They only count units from registered stores, so you can be sure TBCT is plat and over 2 million worldwide I guess.
