I think it's rather boring, only a couple of dope tracks, imo.
Doggfather was decent, but far from his best.

I don't think it's only about the Dre-tracks, but it's more about having Dre onboard, and choosing the 3rd party beats and mixing the tracks.
Dre got a great ear for beats, while Snoop some times makes some odd choices.. and also Snoop is way better lyrically when Dre's executive producer, Snoop admitted that himself.

i definately agree. and even snoop agrees like you said ( just check the dubcnn interviews with snoop from 2006).

but Ego Trippin is mixed as good as any Snoop album I heard Quik mix the whole album and he is just as good when it comes to mixing

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_producer

it's not just mixing  ;) and as you may know, i respect different opinions (again, note that i haven't listened to snoop's new album yet) ;)

Snoops only GREAT product without Dre was DOGGFATHER (thats a classic right there IMO)...on the other hand its cool to see snoop bitchin about weak beats Dre gave him. Maybe Dre gives him better ones next time, some Bishop leftovers...lol..im kiddin.

Hope to see Snoop on detox...

Snoop is done without Dre, even worse is done even with Dre. Doggfather was the only thing he done more or less good without Dre IMO and just because then he was a rapper even tho some beats were wack, not this RnB piece of shit he is today. I dont expect shit from this album, it will be more Neptunes-like shit. I only hope it goes commercial and shit to bring attention back to the West

For a song called "Imagine" wondering about the "what if's", I think Snoop got a great beat from Dre. It's very reflective.... Now had the song been about shooting people or smacking bitches, I would be inclined to agree with you all.

After making the joke about Snoop being mad at Dre for letting Crooked I on Detox, I got to thinking that maybe Dre oughta double the concept of Detox as a unity album too by detoxing these West Coast niggas from beefing with each other.  Dre got enough West Coast respect to pull something off like that, it'd just be up to the beefing parties to meet in the middle with Dre to resolve it.

But for whatever it's worth, IF it is true that Crooked I is on Detox, then Game will definitely be on Detox, regardless if 50 Cent approves or not.  Afterall, it's Dre's album at the end of the day.  It ain't like Snoop/Crook & Game/50 have to record and then hang out and eat dinner together.  Just let Dre work his magic and the rest will fall into place accordingly.  The last thing these niggas need to be worrying about is if their sworn enemy is going to be contributing on the same album as them?  Just bring your hottest verses to the table and leave it at that.  Let Dre do the rest.

dogfather is off the chain and is arguably his second best album, its still ahead of most shit droppin these days. As for needing dre, snoop does not, he needs dre as much as dre needs him in all honesty...they're just fine without each other but together when they unite truly they are amazing. Also the game to be...is a wack album, horrible and RnG is pretty average and BCT with dre on it is weak...PTCTBTB>BCT....

snoop dont need dre, he only needs great people around him, whether its teddy, neptunes, quick or dre....who is in my opinion the greatest hiphop producer ever BUT like wcsoldier said, he aint been droppin heat for more than a minute and neptunes and snoop been hittin the top of the charts with shit like drop it like its hot which was off the chain...

he aint dependent on nobody, you dont last a whole 15 year career from a teenager to a grown ass man and continue to reinvent yourself as a rapper if you're dependent on somebody, he is one of the greatest ever, dont front

I don't really feel Snoop. I disagree with his opinion. There won't be any Snoop Dogg, if Dr.Dre don't put out the Doggystyle. I think Snoop should spend some time about thinking of himself.
It's funky enough!

note that Dre was not an executive producer on BCT, and yes that makes a difference for the final product as Jome pointed out.

but i disagree with you about dre needing snoop as much as snoop needs dre; Dre has enough talented people to work with for Detox, while Snoop was forced to work without his mentor too soon ( this is true, i've seen a snoop documentory, which included interviews with snoop in which he says that he was forced to stand on his own two feet too soon, because of Dre's departure from death row).
i'm not saying that Dre should be Snoop's babysitter, but snoop definately needs a mentor, to criticise his work and that person doesn't have to be dre; but dre just happens to be good at being an executive producer.
in other words, snoop needs to stop smoking so much.

Ego Trippin is a dope album IMO....The best Snoop album yet without any Dre productions, and better than Blue Carpet Treatment IMO.

At the same time, what would "The Chronic" or "2001" be without Snoop?  Definatly not the same man.
