I told a few peeps on this forum about this already but damn. Well alot of you know that i started to write lyrics late summer of 2000,and I've been writing ever since. I always got lukewarm reception, at best it was "your lyrics is good but you don't rap 'em right" or some such shit.And a few months ago i recorded myself and i sounded really really bad and since i was determined to improve my style so i stopped writing for a couple months and just focused on my flow until more recently when i couldn't resist the call of my pen and i started to write again and i found my shit wasn't as hard as before and i kept writing and kept flowing and my rhymes were developing dopeness in front of my eyes and i started being able to control my style more and then in the last 2 months i lost my shyness to flow and i would just do it whenever, i rapped in front of my english class, got mad props, battled people whenever i got tha chane, got mad props. My friends had noticed that i was improving and there was even the other day i was just walking down a street rapping warren g's verse to runnin wit no breaks and a couple black kids stopped me (by the way i'm 13 years old, 1/2 white 1/2 mexican for those who didn't know) and asked if that was mine and i said "naw that was warren g" and they're like "oh bout to say you had flows..." and then i said " I DO have flows.." and they're like "aight,go" and i busted my "Belief and Grief(My Revenge)" song and they were like "damn! you do got flows". anyway my homey started talking to me about doing a band, i proposed rock/funk/rap. and thats in the works,i got to his block alot now so we can discuss and such and i bring lyrics as i go, i have 35 songs written and about 122 pages so i took a few at a time and he would like and i came more and more until some of his homeys heard me rap, they liked it so they would start beat boxing for me and i would flow and they would be giving me even more props,they were saying i should record and that was like whoa to me, since i remembered hearing myself monthsand  months before and how whack i was and here these guys were saying they wanted tapes and shit, i said maybe later, then i flowed for this big hip-hop head, an older guy on their block, he's a big wu-head and he wasn't too impressed by my shit so i rode home quickly and got my whole fucking stack of lyrics with me,i was scared to death that something would happen to it but thankfully nothin did. Anyways, they put on an eric sermon instrumental and i just flowed some shit and i finally got my due from that wu-head and i was flowing at his house from my book of rhymes for hours and we were just talking and shit and then he called up his friend and had him listen to me over the phone and then hesaid that he wanted to take me to his friends hosue that makes beats, so i'm like cool. Then i got this other homey, the one that got me in the suburban mess (some of you know). Why i still hang out with him? Can't quite tell you but oh well, i mean you always need that homey thatll get you in soem shit, good or bad. He just met a guy with an independent label and he's telling him that my shit;s tight and the guys wants to hear me now so that could happen as well. And then the other day at the friend that i'm doing the band's with house, i met these 2 DJ's from and underground hip-hop crew and i spit for them, immediately they were saying they wanted to work with me and that we could hook up and record and shit, i was like whoa. I hung out with them for hours and we just talked about all sorts of shit and at one point, one of them pulled out a pad and asked for my name, i said i went by "Tanjint" and he wrote down tanjint and then my number, in parenthesis next to my name he wrote "MC", yall don't know how good that felt. anyway so they've been calling me and we're trying to hook up dates for us to record and they have another friend who wants to do beats for me after they told him about me, and they're working on a video that focuses on all the elements of southern cali, such as djing,b-boying,graffiti,skating, and rapping and they want me in the video rapping and he's saying that soon he could just pick me up and we could go record and shit, and he was giving me tips on writing lyrics and just discussing music and stuff and i'm starting to feel like i really can go soemwhere with this becaus this is a strong connection since they have some dope beat mix tapes circulating in so cal and some peeps i know heard 'em and i can start recording, working te underground circuit etc. I never thought the raps i wrote would take me somewhere but damn,now i don't know. wish me luck guys, really, God bless, one love,peace-Tanjint
