I do it all the time when I get out of bed in the middle of the night.  Not nearly as harsh as flipping the switch.

yea, my sidekick has a neat benefit, it can turn into a flashlight, by lighting the screen really bright until u turn it off, but it kills the battery.

Comes in real handy sometimes, especially when my drunk ass came stumbling home Friday night, only to find my bathroom light was out. It could have gotten ugly if it wasn't for my phone.
