Honestly I was dissapointed with Teddy Riley on Ego Trippin'

When I first heard that Teddy was going to be on it I was excited because he is indeed a legend but somehow the tracks they did were just ok to me not mindblowing or anything. Actually the best tracks on the album were "Press Play", "Neva Have To Worry", "Sets Up", "One Chance (Make It Good)" all by other producers. I think the only standout track that Teddy did was that last track on the album.

I never was impressed with him working with Snoop. I got about what I expected, a updated New Jack Swing sound. Something completely new that Snoop really has never rapped over in his career. Not a diss, just I was very cautious of if the collabo would work. Verdict is still out for me.

I thought there was going to be more of a Teddy Riley/Quik combo the way I perceived it but in reality Quik only mixed the tracks except for "Press Play", maybe Quik should have coproduced some tracks, I don't know :-\

I thought his production sounded fresh for today even though its updated r&b/new jack swing type beats like someone else said.

but at the end of the day, the opinions of those posters have just as much value as the opinions of others, as long as it's not based on some biased bullshit.

I have a more progressive ear to Snoop then alot of other people. Not as a diss, but I can dig alot more of the different sounds and routes Snoop has done over his career. With that said, I do have a preference when he works with the usual suspects, Dre, DPGC, etc. But I am open to a new sound and change, I liked R&G but this one is taking some time for me to vibe off of. COMPLETELY different sound.

I THINK SNOOP SHOULD HAVE DRE AND HIS PRODUCERS WORK ON HIS NEXT ALBUM BECAUSE THE BEATS THAT THEY DID FOR HIS LAST ONE WERE BETTER THAN ANY BEAT ON EGO TRIPPIN

I don't have any problem with Teddy Riley's songs, Snoop Dogg Is Out is one of the coolest beats ever... However I don't recognize the New Jack Swing sound that was a forefather for west coast rap. To me it's just a new kind of sound.

If you were expecting Teddy Riley to produce a hardcore gangsta rap album (Which He Does Not Do) then your going to be dissapointed, but if you were expecting Teddy Riley to do what he does best which is make funky ass R&B ish then its a hit record.
