if the guy you're buying it off has it registered, he will need to transfer the warranty into your name otherwise the service center won't perform the work

if they wont repair it for whatever reason, a new hard disk + battery is cheap and easy enough to replace yourself

on a side note, i just had the upper case on my macbook replaced 5 times, and the bottom casing replaced once over a 5 week saga. apple tech's can be clowns sometimes

YOU DON'T NEED TO TRANSFER APPLE FACTORY WARRANTY, AS FAR AS I KNOW.

ALL YOU NEED IS A SERIAL #.

incorrect

i know this because i just went through the process. i bought one of my current macbooks off a guy at work and the warranty was in his name. the service center wouldn't do much about the issue until he transferred the warranty into my name
