T.I. Focusing On New Album (DJ Toomp Compares 2Pac/Frank Ski/More)

Rapper-actor T.I. dining with family at Ruth’s Chris Steak House at Centennial Park hours after he pled guilty to weapons charges — with MTV cameras rolling. (You know, he did tell the AJC a few years back that he enjoyed the broccoli au gratin there.) Anyway, apparently now that the Grammy winner has a year before he is sentenced to (an expected) 366 days behind bars, he can focus on the business of promoting his next album. (In between his 1,000-plus hours of community service, that is.)
T.I.’s longtime collaborator DJ Toomp told us he will be executive producer of the upcoming CD, titled “Paper Trail”. “And it’s coming along really well,” Toomp said. “People who’ve heard some of it are comparing it to [late rapper 2Pac’s] ‘Me Against The World’. ” Frank Ski of V-103’s “Frank and Wanda Morning Show” said that he’s in the studio working on music for T.I. as well. “I’ve been to visit him since he’s been on house arrest and I got a lot of good visions from him, and the place he is in his life now. I’m really excited,” Ski said. “People have been asking me when I was going to get back into producing, and this may be the time.” (As anyone who listens to his show regularly knows, his co-announcer Wanda Smith frequently jokes with him about his early ’90s hip-hop production, “Doo Doo Brown”).
Local A&R power Kawan “K.P.” Prather — who signed T.I. to his first major record label deal — also said he and production partner Malay have come up with some tracks for T.I. . “He’s been focused on doing something great,” Prather said.

me 2 man. TI VS TIP was pretty good, his third best album probably IMO. This one is definitely going to be better, i know it. T.I. works best with DJ Toomp and with Toomp exec producing it (he hasn't exec produced a T.I. album since Trap Muzik - his best) it is going to come out great. Toomp wouldn't bullshit and now even Frank Ski? god damn.

T.I. punishment - pretty much, yes. He has to really fuck up now to get more than a year. Assuming he does his comm service and doesn't get arrested again, he'll do about 10 months to one year in prison

Think about this for a second. For the feds to come to such an agreement (that must benefit them or else they wouldn't come 2 it) T.I.'s hands were not NEARLY as dirty as the news made them seem.

And don't gimme no 'he snitched' bullshit because he was the one being snitched on - he was the prize they were after.

I liked King better than T.I. VS T.I.P. personally, I thought it was a little more consistant sounding and I liked the production better, so yeah this album definatly should be dope since DJ Toomp is back in the mix

for real? by no means is I'm Serious a bad album but I think he was trying to please 2 many different crowds with it. BAD tracks like i choose you, hands up, do it, i cant be your man and whats yo name are the reason i have at as his worse.

Urban Legend has some of my favorite T.I. songs and could be substituted for my #3 over TI VS TIP. Tha King, Asap, Motivation, U Don't Know Me are easily 4 of his greatest lyrical songs ever.
