Myths about Snoop's Voice
«

These are all "established facts" about Snoop's rapping voice which are actually false
1) His rapping is better in Doggystyle than any of his other albums - completely false - he is lyrically at his worst on Doggystyle but Dre produces beats that are exactly right for his voice. Dre's beats focus attention on Snoop's raps, other producers (especially No Limit's) beats shift listeners attention of his voice which makes people conclude that somehow Snoops voice is weaker.
2) Snoop started changing his voice (whispering etc.) after Doggystyle. Totally false- Gz up Hoes Down features changes in his voice and the start of Doggy Dogg World.
Bottom line - If u think Snoop fell off after Doggystyle ur not a true Snoop fan ur a Dr Dre beats fan.
SNOOP IS ONE OF VERY FEW RAPPERS THAT HAVE THE BALLS TO EXPERIMENT WITH HIS VOICE - SING, WHISPERetc.
I'm a Snoop fan and recognize that Doggystyle is better than Doggfather - not because of Snoop's voice but because of the style and beats of the record.
Rapping wise SNOOP NEVER FELL OFF it's a myth

i dunno he rips the mic more on doggstyle he's still capable of doing that (woof is prime example) but that's not his thang he likes doing laid back music, that's what he grew up on and that's what he's gonna do...i like him either way though, but you do got to admit somtime he has filler tracks where he's barley rhyming and kinda just talking....

Man, theres no dening his flow is weaker now than on Doggystyle
His voice is laid back & lazy now, listen to Doggystyle & you hear the energy & effort in his voice.
Lyrics Snoop has became better than what he used to be, but Lyrics will never be Snoops strong point, Snoops strong point was his voice & flow, & now that he has fucked that up, I dont like listening to him anymore
You guys can think what you wanna think, but this is what I think.

I don`t agree with u, in my opinion snoop`s flow on his old songs is definitly better than on his new.
I argee the perfect beats from dre do play a big role,
but when you listen to songs like " let em understand perfection " or " deep cover " where the ears are more on the lyrics than on the beat you got a perfect flow, which he never archived again after that.
nuthin`from the new stuff gives me that feelin`like ...ah fuck what a tite flow i have to bang my head although i don`t want to.
i don`t know how to explain

I TOTALLY Agree With Jay_ay_Beee...
Doggystyle Is A DOPE Album, Because Dre's Beats, And ALSO Because Of The Ghost Writing Of RBX And The DOC.. They Both Helped Snoop Work On His Flow, Along With Dre (Snoop Has Admitted To This Several Times)... Together The 2 Fit Together Perfectly.
Nowadays, If Snoop Has A Good Beat, And Is Feelin' It, He's Made SEVERAL Songs That Are As Good As The Tracks On Doggystyle.. For Instance, "G'd Up" And His Verse In That Is Probably One Of The Tightest He's Ever Done...
"Ready To Ride" With Eve... His Flow On That Song Is REALLY Similar To "2 Of Amerikkas Most Wanted" With Tupac, On Ready To Ride He's REALLY Tight....
"Everywhere I Go", If You REALLY Think About It, His Flow And Voice Are Similar To "G'z And Hustlaz", Singing, Rapping, Back And Forth... I'd Say Flow Wise, It's As Good, Just The Beat Isn't As Great, Without The Funk.
"Yall Gon' Miss Me" - His Flow Here Is As Good As Stuff Like "Pump Pump", Sounds Almost The Same, But The Beat Isn't As Good...
It's ALL In How The Beats Are Done...
Then You Got Songs Like "Henn And Buddah", "Bitch Please", "Lay Low" That Are As Good As His Stuff On Doggystyle, Mainly Because Dre Produced Them...
Right Now, Snoop's Voice And Flow Are Just As Good As Doggystyle, It's Just He Doesn't Have Dre, RBX, And The DOC Helping Him Out As Much.

I wanna say big up to evry1 who agreeed with me and evry1 who disagreed with me and told me why
Engies i respect ur opinion but I think it's wrong to say his flow is weaker than on Doggystyle - it's not like he has the same flow on every track! His flow is totally different on Who am I than it is on Lodi Dodi - on a topic like this u can't generalize else u come unstuck - u say he messed up his voice and flow How? What's good 2 u might not be 2 evry1 else, u can't expect him to please every1 - u don't like his flow - doesn't mean he's fell off flow wise. Check out the album version of Gangsta Ride - His flow there is the same as on Pump Pump,Ain't No Fun etc.
Willie as Big Boi says on Chonkyfire - "ur an mc making their heads bob/is the tracks job"
Dre's beats make ur head move check what I say about Dre beats fan

LOL!
Bottom line
Snoop can choose
Sixx Minutes - whispers
Doesn't mean because he chooses to experiment that he or his voice has somehow fallen off
He didn't wake up one day and discover that his rapping voice had dissappeared
If Snoop had kept his same style from Doggystyle he could be on top today - not Em
But he chooses to experiment and bring variety and does what he wants to do - not any1 else
NOW THAT'S BEING AN ARTIST
