Question on DJ Quick and Dre issues
« on: April 16, 2001, 12:59:12 AM »
I remember when the song U Ain't Fresh came out with Quicks balance and options album everyone said it was a diss at Dre. Was this true? I know Dre used to run with a guy named lamar. And most of us are aware of the Dre gay rumors, so some of the shit Quick was sayin sure did sound like it was aimed at Dre. Does anyone know what the deal with that track was? Was it to Dre, or was there some other person that it was aimed at?

The song is NOT aimed at Dre. Quik called into the Baka Boys show out here in Southern CALI and he said its not aimed at Dre. I had my doubts also, but last year Quik had a show called "The Way 2 Funky Radio Show". He said I wanna give props to the dopest producers in hip hop. I dont remember most, but he said Battlecat, Premier, Bobcat, Babyface, Mel Man. He was talking about how Mel Man let him hear some of his new shit and Quik was like this shit is tight as hell. He then said, the dopest producer is D.R.E. Quik said some other shit about Dre and he ended by telling him to keep bangin. There have been other times when he complimented Dre, so it seems to be all good between the two. Dre even said the he would love to work with Quik on Big Boys Neighborhood morning show.

Yeah, There's Definately No Beef Between Dre & Quik...

BUT

I Sometimes Get The Feeling That Maybe It Was Aimed At Him, And Then he Changed His Mind? I Dunno, It's Got All The Classic Dre Disses "I'd Neva Put My Name On A Track That Wasn't Mine"... I Mean, How Could He Be Talking About Cube There? I Guess It's The '"WESSTTSIDEEEE" Thing Again...

Anyways, It's STILL A Bitch Move To Not Name Names, In My Opinion, Either Way.

Well, The Story Went That Cube Ripped His "WESTSIDDEEEE" Yell Off Of Mauseburg, WhichIs Why Quik Was Beefing With Him.  That Would Half Ass Explain The "Track That Wasn't Mine" Quote, But In My Opinion, If It's A Cube Diss, It's A Sorry Ass Song That Doesn't Make Sense.. If It's A Dre Diss, They Ripped Him... LOL.

I thought that shit was directed towards Dre too... especially in tha line where he says "this hip hop shit is gettin stupid again/these niggaz gun tottin', fighting, gettin RUTHLESS again"...remember Dre started gettin soft with that Aftermath Cd and I guess that shit wasnt working for him so he had to come back with Gangster Rap.
Then on that song "D.R.E" dre says "yeah nigga, my last album was the Chronic"... did he think we forgot about "Been There Done That"?

That Aftermath album wasn't REALLY Dre's.  It was more of a compilation.

yeah, But He ALSO Says "Fucked You Up Wit My Last Video, Tuxed Up, Doin' A Tango"... So He's Not Trying To Act Like It Didn't Happen.  Dre's Only Released 2 Dr. Dre Albums!  He Was On What, 1 Song on The Aftermath Comp?

BTW, I Thought "Been There, Done That" Was TIGHTTTTTT.
