The US is not a democracy.
this uniquely American way of having electoral votes that are all handed out to the winning candidate in each state is an anachronism and one big problem of American democracy, exemplified most clearly by Bush beating Gore with less votes than him.
This election is proof the system is so fucking broken. This isn't a democracy. The Republicans have Winner Take All, which is why McCain won so early. He beat Romney by like 5% in Florida, and that was it, he was pretty much declared the winner. Obama and Hillary can't even reach the required amount of delegates to win, because every state is proportional. They need "Super Delegates". Sounds like something the Nazi party would have. It's pathetic people are laughing that McCain won so early. He won early because the way they give out delegates is completely fucked. Both parties should elect their nominee the same way. The most logical way to do it would be state wide proportional 50%, with a 50% bonus for whoever wins a state. No winner take all, no 50-5- splits. It's fucking stupid!
The US is not a democracy. It gives you a bunch of mediocre candidates, chosen from within the party, pre-selected for the main stream. And when someone new like Ron Paul comes in, no one votes for him because the media gives him no chance.
What they should do is fix the voting systems, and NOT declare the results until after ALL the states have voted. This would be fair. The media fucking spins the results, and tells who what to do. Knowing who wins a state, should not influence your vote. Oh Obama won Iowa, so I'm going to vote Obama when we vote here in Florida. The results completely fuck with peoples minds. "America loves a winner." Just imagine if the media and public didn't know the results to the primaries, people would vote with their MINDS, they would vote unbiased. Instead of the media telling you screwed up opinions from people who don't really know anything. In a 3 month span, have all 50 states vote. 3 a week, or whatever. Don't release the results. And at the end of those 3 months, show the results, show who won which states. That is a fucking democracy. The system now fucks with peoples minds. The results consume them, making them completely useless.

Of course the U.S. is not a democracy. The U.S. is a constitutional republic. You guys just figured that out now?
