Wiz Khalifa The New Sound?
« on: May 05, 2008, 01:59:07 PM »
Yo so who's heard of Wiz Khalifa? He just got signed to Waner Bros and his single Say Yeah!!! is kinda blown up. He took a techno song Better Off Alone, and turned it into a hip hop song.  If you haven't heard it heres the link myspace.com/wizkhalifa  check it out then come back and give me your opinion if its fresh or just plan old wacky cheezzz.

Can't wait to check this one out because "Better Off Alone" is my all time favorite techno joint... and its actually the only techno song/album that I actually own...  so if this dude remade it into a hiphop track I know this is gonna be dope.

This song is such a cheap rip off, but I love it.

The song ain't that bad, but I think they could have hyped up the beat a little better. Seems a little too simple for such a hot sample, almost a waste. I bumped the track a few times, it just gets played out quick though.

Song was fuckin aweful.  Video was even worse.

...dancin around with stupid women, throwing money around, and I thought you guys said this was some new shit?  Seems like the same old shit that's ruined hip-hop, no different then Nelly, Lil Wayne, or any of them South rappers.

What's wrong with it is that these cats start a thread like this dude is doing something "new" and then I watch the video and its no different than every other song and video that's played on BET.  Stupid hoes dancin... and I say "stupid hoes" because they are not in the video to represent anything of any intellectual or artistic value they are just in their to show tits and ass to make up for the artists lack of talent and creativity...

The style, clothes, hoes, money...it was the same shit as in every video that's out today... the song was wack too... there was nothing "new" about his sound or lyrics...

just the same old shit.  Yall just suckin him off cause he's on the west coast.  And I love the west coast but id rather listen to old Death Row albums for the billionth time than play that "new" shit.

Check your facts, Wiz is from Pittsburg and peep his other music 'fore you judge.

An exclusive Pocos Pero Locos remix of "Say Yeah" featuring Down A.K.A. Kilo and Slow Pain was played last Sunday. I will upload it here this Sunday so you can drop your two (or fifty) cent opinions on the song.

then this is in the wrong section of the forum and it would be hard to give another one of his tracks a chance after that last one...  but I may just do it since his last name is "Kalifa" (means Islamic world leader)
