Destroying some poor fellas car.Trashing the placeAltercations with the polisKnocking their own out (27 secs in)More fighting amongst themselves
I knew it. I honestly hadnt seen any of those videos or anything at the time i started the thread. In that last video Boo-Yaa posted my stomach actually lurched when the policeman fell over and that shower of scumbags piled up on him, fair play to the guy he got away but that could have been terrible. They truly are Scotlands shame, a screen failed in seville where there was thousands of Celtic supporters and there was no violence what so ever, like Bez said, they just found a pub or went elsewhere. Celtic got the award of best supporters, when Dundee Utd were in europe, there fans got an award for their conduct. Scotland's national team have been awarded several times for the behaviour of there fans. I just hope the rest of the world who saw this dont think it represents scotland because it doesnt, most of them dont give a shit about Scotland. They are scum of the earth pure and simple, and surely have to be banned?
Am I right to say that uefa wont get involved because the trouble happened outside of the stadium?
UEFA have said Manchester did an amazing job of hosting the tie and that no other city could of done it better, which lets be honest, is utter bullshit. Tell that to the policeman who got his arm broke when he was set on by 10 plus fans, the guy who got stabbed, the shop owners, the people who cars got trashed, etc. Inside the stadium, everything was fine but outside was a disaster.I still think there should definetly be a 'backup' stadium for Cup Finals. For example, if this final had a backup stadium somehwere abroad, lets say the bernabeua or Nou camp then you wouldnt of got all the idiots travelling to the game. You would of got real fans going to watch them because it would of cost a bit of money, other cities apart from Glasgow would have no reason to put up screens and stuff and I doubt 100 000 people would of actually travelled to Glasgow to watch it. Most people went to Manchester for the day out, for the laugh with their mates, to get pissed up, have fun and watch the game in a 'foreign' territory, if their was screens errected in only Glasgow then many people would just goto their local pub or have a house party or something. If it was an Everton vs Liverpool, champions league final in Manchester on a hot summers day, you know what would probably happen. I would hope that it wouldnt but it most likely would. And its pretty easy for people who ain't even hooligans to get caught up in that shit. I mean who hasnt been out and got pissed and got into a fight and then the next day just thought 'shit, what the fuck was I doing?'. Games like this in my opinion are always going to be 'high risk' and therefore a backup staduim should always be in place. If an Everton vs Liverpool champions league final was held in Moscow, then only 'real' fans would travel. Ok you might get a few incidents here and there but you wouldnt get the 'mass offs' like in the Rangers game. A contigency plan should always be put into place and if I was UEFA I would make sure that was a reality. Imagine Inter Milan vs Roma at Juventus, Real vs Barce at Villarreal, etc, its a day trip out and so easy to commute, it makes it so easy to start trouble.Once again though I tihnk we have proven English police cannot police big events like this. When the screens went off the fans should of been kept in that square and let out in small groups - German police would of had that shit locked down, as they did in the last world cup when it went off between England and Germany. They shut the shit down, didnt let anyone out, then arrested the trouble makers. Or they could of even took the friendly approach the like dutch police did with English fans at the Euros. Its no good letting 100 000 people getting pissed without them seeing a police officer all day, then suddenly when trouble flares up sending in riot police to smack everything in sight, you need an approach. It really does make me laugh that after all the hooliganism they still havent learned that CCTV isnt going to deter anyone, especially if youre pissed. You just throw your shirt around your face and carry on. There was only something like 43 arrests made on the night, that to me signals that the police - a, didnt have the man power... b, didnt have the cells to actually make a number of arrests... c, didnt have the equipment like police vans, tear gas, pepper sprays, whatever. How anyone can watch the videos, see the pictures and say it was a success bemuses me. Having riots in a city center isn't a success. End of story.
