Back once again WCC ;) Thanks once again to all of you who gave feedback in my Venice Beach/Malibu thread. It's appreciated.

I'm at DAY 4 right now, and we're going to visit San Diego that day. A few questions on that matter:

1) We're going to pay a visit to SeaWorld. How much time do I have to calculate for that visit if we want to see the main attractions? I've searched the website, but unlike Universal Studio's website, it doesn't mention how much time it can take to take the tour. An estimate would come in handy.

2) On SeaWorld's website it says that you can have breakfast and lunch in their restaurant. I was wondering: is this worth it? Something tells me that having lunch in SeaWorld will be expensive due to the 'wonderful environment'. If it's NOT expensive to have lunch there, do you get a decent meal for the price you pay? Or do they overcharge you for - let's say - a tiny steak with fries?
Then again, I've read their policy and it's prohibited to bring in any drinks or food, so something tells me you're pretty much obliged to have lunch there. Feel free to give suggestions, comments, thoughts...

3) What else is worth going to in San Diego? Please keep in mind that my parents, my grandma & my brother are with me on this trip. So, if possible, try to give some suggestions that could please all of us. We're quite open-minded when it comes to visiting cities: beautiful botanic gardens, interesting architectural buildings, good shopping blvds, cheap music stores, ...anything goes. Thx!

That's it for now.

As for DAY 5 of our trip, I'm thinking of heading to either Phoenix or skipping Phoenix and going straight to the Grand Canyon area. I've just googled Phoenix, and at first sight, I don't think there's anything worth spending a day there. Any comments on that matter are welcome as well. Thanks.

Well, that's your opinion. "De gustibus et coloribus non disputandem" ;) Don't forget that.
Me & my family have been going to holiday destinations like the Canary Islands, the Dominican Republic, Mauritius, etc for roughly 15 years now. Each year has been pretty much the same: laying at the hotel's swimming pool or going to the nearby beach.

We want something totally different this year, and I've wanted to go the States since I was about 12. So, we decided to make a trip to the West Coast: LA-San Diego-Las Vegas-San Francisco, and in between those cities make a few stops at some National Parks.

That looks like a place my parents & grandma will definitely like. Thx for the link bro 8) That's why I decided to make this thread. I can surf the Web all I want for my West Coast-trip, but coming across restaurants or places like these...that's just pure luck when you're randomly surfing. It comes in handy when you know people who are FROM the area.

that place is real clost to my pad, its my favorite taco shop in the WORLD.

you MUST go there.
part of going to sd is finding the ebst mexican food in the world without going to mexico.  You're doing yourself a great disservice if you dont.

I dont know about the food spots in seaworld, I've never really been a fan fo sea world but I do know it can go from 5 hours to one day.  If youre planning to see daygo and you only want one day, I'd say skip sea world, check out oldtown, check out the whaley house, it's haunted I used to work there its pretty dope and the shit was on tv, the show America's most haunted.

yea man, you're lucky to be hitting up SD, I'll be back home in 2 weeks.

yah, I won $2500 on a fuckin slot machine there before.

As for SD, if you hear on the weekend during the summer....hit up South Mission Beach. Belmont Park area. They got some lil shops and an old fucked up Roller Coaster. But a lot of people, you can hit the boardwalk or the park too.

Dude, you need to be in San Diego for at least a week. Hit up Belmont Park in Mission Bay. Mister A's is pimp. Spend a day at Balboa Park and grab dinner at The Prado.

Belmont Park looks like fun, but keep in mind that my grandma is going on this trip too. Going to an amusement park is not exactly something for her. Besides, I can go to amusement parks here in Belgium too ;) Thx for the suggestion though.

Balboa Park sounds interesting though. Just browsed through their website. Some cool things there, for my parents AND for my brother and me.
Instead of spending only one day in SD, it might turn out to be two days now...

Keep the feedback coming!

Btw: what about Phoenix? I'm thinking of skipping Phoenix and going from SD straight to the Grand Canyon...
