Question: How hard is it playing against Kobe? Is he as unstoppable as people say he is?

Tyson Chandler: He really is, and the thing that makes him so unstoppable is that he never stops coming. This year in New Orleans, we were up like 8-12 points against them, 5-6 minutes left in the 4th quarter, we pretty much had control of the game, all we had to do was wrap it up. We're there at the freethrowline and he's like "you know I ain't gone let us lose, right?".. And I look back at himand I say, "you know I'm not going to let MY team lose." He was like, "alright Ty, but you know I'm not going to let my team lose". And so I jaw back at him, "I'm not going to let MY team lose." Right after that, man, he had to run off about 15 straight points on us, and I'm looking at the scoreboard going, "come on, time, run out", thinking this dude cannot just beat us single handedly, especially after I'm sittin there talking crap back and forth to him.

We end up winning the game, but he almost beat us. He almost beat us by hisself. And it was like...literally...His DRIVE...you know, some guys can say stuff like "yea, we gone win the game", but you look at him and he's sayin it with a stern face "we winnin' the game"... and he almost makes you believe it. (Laughs) I love that drive about him, and that's what I was sayin, I wanna take that into next year.

Byron Scott was tellin me...Towards the end of the season, it's winding down and we're playing them in LA for the number 1 and 2 spot. Coach was tellin us, that guy in that other locker room? He's playing for a ring. He understands what this moment is, he's going to try to take our heart now. So when he has to face us later on, closer to June, he knows what he's playing for. You guys in this locker room, each one of you have to match that. Because you know he's only playing for one thing... a ring.

As I was leaving that locker room, I was thinking... one dude over there is making this whole locker room focus in on him. I thought to myself, I have to be that dude on this team, that needs to be me, the guy that the whole other team has to focus on, the guy that the other coach gears his whole pre-game speech on.

Question: Who are players you want to emulate?

Tyson Chandler (On Kobe:)- Just watching Kobe this year, everyone talks about it, his killer instinct. I really want to take his drive and killer instinct. I just feel like at this time in my career I have to take that responsibility, and just watching him.... I was just in awe sometimes watching him.
