i can't front good interview jay, you asked what the "people" wanted to know. I'm torn on it tho, cause he spoke the networth and some bullshit at the same time in this "Record labels wanna hear that you have multiple records, that you have a sound and a certain image. You gotta go do radio record! There is a reason why Chris Brown, T-Pain and Akon are on the radio all the time. The listener's ears is tuned to that kind of sound. If you're not doing records like that, you're not gonna get airplay. And to get upset about it is ridiculous. If you're a street cat and you do street records, then you shouldn't really expect your record to get played on the radio, cause you're not doing records that's in that lane."  I agree if you are a street cat and you are doing music striccly for that crowd with the curses and that raw content, you shouldn't expect to get radio play with that, that part is true. but the part whee he says you need to have a sound similar to the chris browns,t-pains and akon's is "ridiculous". i'm sorry that is what kills the music, why keep giving people the same thing,he got to remember t-pain came in and did something else (i know roger and quiks used talk box before) but he did the shit for his whole gimmicc, and uses simple lyrics in his song, where roger's shit was more deep and the lyrics was better same with quik. and it caught on. same when timberland came with his first sound to radio it wasn't like what everybody else was doing? neither was swizz beatz when he burst on the scene! So be honest, about it all, i don't expect him to speak on the payola aspect, fucc risking his job so i'm with him on that, but still you don't need to sound like somebody else to appeal to people, that's just part of the dumbing down of this generation of music lovers yell

^Real talk.

It seems like DJs and stations have played more bullshit than real dope shit that it's the norm, and now everyone has to do songs like what's on the radio or else it won't get played. I still got props for Felli Fel for playing West Coast shit at times and I respect what he's saying, but still...changing just to fit a certain format is BS. That's just my two cents though.

Thing is, Timberland and to a lesser extent Swizz beats are KNOWN hit makers. The radio and industry were different places now than when Swizz/Timberland became hot.
Today breaking a new sound seems to be a lot harder.

IMO Felli fell is just trying to say "Prove yourself, then you'll be able to innovate"
