Jon Barry=The worst analyst in NBA history.
« on: June 16, 2008, 06:11:18 PM »
I was listening to him on Rome this morning and I've never heard such one sided opinions in my life. The guy obviously has a vendetta against the Lakers for cutting him from the roster back in the day. I mean, seriously, his comments are ABSURD. Who hired this bias moron to be a basketball analyst? The idiot refused to talk about anything positive the Lakers have done throughout the playoffs, all while talking mad shit, non-stop...he's worse than Tim Legler and Skip Bayless! The douchebag even made a comment in yesterdays pre-game show about how he thinks the Lakers are going to roll over just so they won't have to hassle making a trip back to Boston. LMAO

fuckin shithole. :puke:

Same old boring shit... I mean, there's nothing else to listen to in the morning, so I put him on. But yea, he's always been pretty much the same.

jim rome's show on KLAC is boring as hell, the way he delivers his sports analysis is NOT meant for radio.

his espn tv show 'jim rome is burning' is decently entertaining though.

I'd call him a flip flopper before a Laker Hater I think

he was actually on their nuts up until the Finals

he was talkin about them as favorites in every series

the ESPN analysts that I always suspected as Laker Haters are

Greg Anthony
Tim Legler
Rick Bucher

Bucher and Legler are definitely Laker haters. Anthony is usually fair, but he does hold that BSPN east coast bias here and there...but Barry DEFINITELY hates the Lakers, man. Do you ever listen to his analysis? It's so clearly bias. Even when he picks the Lakers to win a series, he still talks about how flawed they are as a team and always downplays our great aspects. He was also a Sacramento King during those Laker-King rivalry days...Analysts who lack objectivity shouldn't be hired. BSPN is full of these Laker hating assholes. It's pathetic.

Homie you care about those tv analysts and journalists too much. This shit happens everywhere, and it's a good business. John Barry is being used by ESPN cause the Lakers are the most popular NBA team in the Nation and all around the World, so the other side of this medal is that they are the most hated team too. He represents people who hates the Lakers. He's there cause the whole NBA fans but Laker fans hates on the Lakers. And if he's still there, he's there because it works for ESPN. If you want to read the opinion of good NBA analysts you should check better places that ESPN. ESPN is just a business machine. And controversy sells. It happens the same here with european football. Here in Italy Juventus Fc is the team with the most number of fans (half of Italy supports Juventus), so at the same time they're the team with the most haters. And on the tv you see analysts who hates on Juventus. Cause controversy sells, and they represents half of Italy who hates on a team. Just don't care about them. Like somebody once said, "more haters, more honour".

Well, here in America, the media means a lot more than it does in other countries... you'd be amazed at how the opinions of these analysts influence the casual basketball fans. Fact of the matter is, Celtics are getting love everywhere and the Lakers are being shitted on by the network broadcasting these Finals. It doesn't bother me much, but I happen to think it's a load of BS. Analysts are meant to be objective, and there is way too much favoritism being played in the neutral media these days...PeACe

You ain't getting it. I'll stay with my Juventus Fc example. The media hated so much on this team that they sent it to the second division because of bullshit theories of them fixing games and shit. With no proofs at all of game fixed and shit. It was like the revenge of the half of Italy who hates Juventus Fc, and it doesn't matter if they still have to find proofs of game fixed: they wanted them in the second division, they sent them there. It was all about hate (and getting the support of the half of Italy who hates on them). Or i can talk about a trial they've made against Juventus Fc cause they blamed them of doping players. It doesn't matter they proved to be innocent: people and the media still talks shit about the (INNOCENT) players involved calling them doped and shit. Pure hate.

Lakers are loved, comparing them to Juventus, LOL. Anyway that's how it works: if your journalists are pro-Juventus, they'll make half of Italy mad. If they talk shit about them, 19 teams in Serie A out of 20 will love them journalists and support them. Even if they say bullshit.

Juventus did fix games. Who gives a fuck if there is unfuckwitable proof or not? I agree without proof they shouldn't get send to Serie B, but they are still a bunch of fuckers. It's like saying Pablo Escobar never dealt with no cocaine in his life as long there's no substantial proof and no judge to sentence him for it. Fuck that. Juventus has been on some shady shit.

Exactly my point. People like you (haters) doesnt even wanna know if they fixed games or not: they just want to hear Juventus fixed games. And, to back on the Lakers, people like you (haters) doesn't even care if Barry is saying the truth. They just want to hear him talking shit about the team they hate. That's the business. And it works. It's like this referee talking shit about the Lakers fixing the series against the Kings: people doesn't even need to know if he's bullshiting or not. They just wanted to hear from his mouth Lakers robbed. That's all they need to hear. And who gives a shit if it's true or not.

P.S.
Juventus didn't fix games and there is not even a single proof of it. But you don't give a fuck...

Jack Haley was a Laker analyst, not a national one... and he still wasn't as bad as Barry. LOL.
