Nicholson > Heath still imo, but that's because I appreciate the goofy Joker role. That being said, I think Heath should get an oscar, he perfectly nailed this dark rendition of Joker. He was flawless.

Maggie Gylenhall was a great leading lady. She has the dark kinda ugly quality that was perfect for this movie.

Bale is a great Bruce Wayne, he still has that snobby Patrick Bateman feel which translates to a good Wayne. Good as Batman too, atleast better than Clooney and Kilmer at least  :P

I like the minimalist sound design for the flick, makes it very eerie when they're tearing up the city and it's so quiet around.

Love the actual demolition, not cgi for explosions. rare find these days.

Dent was a great role, and the make up was awesome. He didn't have the swag though to be a main villain for the next flick so good they killed him.

The end speech and message about a the city needed vs deserved was cool, but kinda corny.

They shoulda threatened Gordon's daughter instead of son, so she would be in our minds and a possible candidate for Harlequin in future roles, but oh well.

Anyway, loved the movie, I like 1989 better, but this is an insanely close 2nd place. Great movie.

Just saw it last night, and i can honestly say it is the best movie i have seen in a long long time. And being 20, i think it is possibly the greatest movie i ave ever seen at the cinema. HAd a feeling it was going to let me down as i had been looking forward to it for so long, but it didnt. Not one bit.

Everyone was fantastic, outside of Ledger and Eckhart, i would say Oldman was THE standout guy. Bale was excellent as well, both as Wayne and Batman, no complaints with anyone.

My only dissapointment (if u can call it that) was that originally i thought 2 face was dead, but after thinking about it and reading on here he might not be, im kinda happy. IMO a quarter of a film is no where near enough for 2 face, so i really hope he is in the third one. Maybe the public still love him, Batman is being portrayed as the cop killing psycho and Eckhart is the DA trying to track him down/ Murder him.

Oh and i defintely thought the comment about the cats was a hint to cat woman, hope im wrong though, never really liked her...

In the comics Gordons daughter Barbara is the first batgirl (i think) and later when Joker shoots her, and she ends up in a wheelchair, she becomes The Oracle (helping Batman with info and such)..

I had my problems with it. Still a great film. Still best super hero film ever so far. But there were things that really rubbed me the wrong way. The Batman/Joker convo in the that was lifted from Killing Joke doesn't work so well with out the years of history. Two Face was rushed and his Return of the Sith Darth Vader reasoning for going bad didn't do it for me. They should have had Dent be a bit more two faced from the beginning. Not so much a split personality but more a secret hatred for the world. They also should have had Dent play the Dawes character in both films. I still see no reason for Rachel Dawes. I also didn't buy Batman caring so much about Dent's reputation that he'd take the rap for killing Cops. But Batman turning villain-like for the public was a great idea and a great way to explain the title of the film. It was also a great way to introduce the real face of hope the people of Gotham need to go on; Superman. If a Bat/Supes film was ever ready to go now would have been the time. Too bad the Superman film sucked so much. DC should just do what Marvel did with Hulk.

I was wondering when you'd come in and diss a movie everyone else liked. Of course if this was the same movie but on an independent level, you'd praise it.

I loved the film. It was the best Batman thus far, by far. Joker was perfect in every sense. Bale nailed the Bruce Wayne parts this time around. The movie was incredible. I could write an essay on how great it was, but in that essay you'd find one small paragraph pointing out what I didn't like.

P.S. I don't see how a film of this type could ever work as an indy film. I certainly wouldn't praise it.

I guess that means Romero > Nicholson

That is a great movie! I was disapointed with the previous performance of Jack Nicholson, he was not psychotic enough, like a critic said next to Ledger his version looked like an angry Elton John lol!
Ledger brought a crazy performance, yet I would maybe have seen a little bit more of fantasy! But he really deserves an Oscar! Shame he won't be in the third!

i think its the best superhero movie ive seen. I honestly can't think of one that i enjoyed more... Heaths performance was perfect and the storyline was told really well. Only quarm was the bit at the end didn't seem as smooth as the rest of the movie. After the girl dies the movie seemed to dip slightly but even that was real good.

I'd give it a 5/5 Can't wait to see Quantum of Solace now, it looks like it will live up to the standards of casino royal.
