by the way, I did an interview with John Winkin, a college baseball hall of fame coach who's seen everybody who's anybody since the 1930's.  he told me Dimaggio was the best player ever, for what it's worth.   also told me about being at Pearl Harbor the day of the attacks, and what it was like to work at Ted Williams baseball summer camp for 10 years.
