which album is better.  Illmatic gets my vote,  straight street shit right there.  Tha wackest cut on there is one time 4 your mind an it is still a banger.  Reasonable doubt had aint no nigga,  talk about a shitty track.  I dont even consider reasonable doubt a classic. Its close but no classic.  I give it 4.5/5.  ofcourse some on this board will say im a jigga hater tho

"Illmatic", no contest. "Illmatic" is a contender for one of the best hip-hop albums ever, and imo "Reasonable Doubt" is not even on "Illmatic's" level, i'd say it's more comparable to "It Was Written". "Reasonable Doubt" is by far Jigga's best album, and it's a great album but as far as being a classic goes i'd say it's arguably not, but "Illmatic" is a pure classic, and not many people have or can deny that.

Tom I won't call you a Jigga hater even if you don't think "Reasonable Doubt" is a classic, which it is. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. Both are classic albums, excelling lyrically and beat-wise. I can't pick a winner, at least not before analyzing both albums thoroughly.

Peace

well...BOTH r defenite classics and 2 of the dopest albums to ever come out the eastcoast , I feel like, Illmatic takes it by a small bit, and why?!- basiclly due to a technicality...it was  shorter than RD, therefore...there wazn't much play time to push in averrage or wack material, now..one problem on "reasonable doubt" ,was, that the crossover attempt "Ain' no N***A" was basiclly averrage....nothin to make it less of a classic album nor a less influential and a Vital one for any true head, but it basiclly takes points from the averrage, in faCT RD has much more strong-solid-classic metrial on it than Illmatic. which, wit it'z shortness, could actually hint (even at that time) at it's composer'z inconcistency, and breaky brilliance...so as for averrages, Illmatic takes it by a small bit, overall R.D had much more goods to offer....

p.s saying, RD is not even on Illmatic's level, is NONsence
imo, no disrespect. imo RD was "1.5" times more lyriclly suffisticated overall than Illmatic was...plus, it was better produced. but as i said a technicallity of a numeral rating helps it take it by a small bit.
