It's pretty much official...no way the Lakers match this huge offer.

Turiaf agrees with Warriors-
The Lakers have seven days to match the 4-year, $17 million contract offer.

Lakers forward-center Ronny Turiaf agreed to a four-year, $17 million offer from the Golden State Warriors, according to two league sources.

Turiaf is a restricted free agent. The Lakers have seven days to match the Warriors' offer.

Turiaf's agent, Mark Bartelstein would neither confirm nor deny the offer from the Warriors.

"We've talked to a bunch of teams," Bartelstein said in a phone interview. "There are a lot of teams that are interested in Ronny. We'll just wait to see what happens."

The Lakers' other restricted free agent, guard Sasha Vujacic, still is negotiating with the team.

When Vujacic's agent, Bill Duffy, was contacted Tuesday, he responded in a text message, saying there was "no progress today."

Vujacic was believed to be looking for a contract starting at about $5 million per season.

At 9:01 p.m. Tuesday, NBA teams were officially able to complete signings and trades after the lifting of a league-wide moratorium that began July 1.

The Lakers currently have a payroll of $75,135,796 with just 10 players signed for the 2008-09 season.

If they sign Vujacic and Turiaf, the Lakers' payroll could exceed $80 million.

James Posey, a forward with the NBA champion Boston Celtics, has been mentioned as a possibility for the Lakers. But several teams are looking at Posey.

The Lakers are over the salary cap, which will be $58.68 million for the 2008-09 season, and the luxury tax is 71.15 million.

For the 2007-08 season, the Lakers will have to pay the dollar-for-dollar luxury tax of $4,719,543 for exceeding the threshold of $67.865 million.

Damn, that's the first I've heard of this one..How much did the Lakers offer him? And they still have the right to match the offer, so it's not complete. I can't blame him for taking an offer of more money, because he could still be brought back. No matter how much you want to be somewhere, money is very important. I wonder what the Warriors plans for him are..Right now, they have Biedrins, Harrington, Wright, Randolph, and Hendrix at the 4 and 5 positions. Harrington could be gone though, and nobody else is proven, and at least you know what you're getting with Ronny.

No big loss. With Bynum and Gasol in the line-up, niggas not getting a lot of minutes. Also, with Bynum getting a big contract soon, the Lakers better watch out, cause they gon be deep deep into the luxery tax.

Lakers offer=$1 million for 1 year.
Warriors offer=$17 million for 4 years.

Apparently, he likes $16 million dollars more.

No way are we matching... that will leave us with only $1 mill per year to re-sign Vujacic, which isn't happening. Our current offer to Vujacic is $2.6 mill for 1 year. Turiaf was offered $1 mill for 1 year by us...He'll be missed in LA.

Yea...they missed out on Brand and settled for Maggette for much less. They'll probably sign a couple more role players before it's all said and done.

It's all good, Fish took the money to leave and ended up coming back, I think of Ronny as a Laker for Life, and would not be surpised to see him back. Ronny, the door is open, make your money, take care and see you in Purple and Gold soon.

Great guy but at the end of the day is all about what you do on the court...he disappeared in the playoffs...1.4 RPG....2 PPG....his rebounding has always been weak, his post game is not that good....he's not worth all that money...hopefully we bring in kurt thomas
