Damn, even thought I read this when it was in XXL, once I started again I couldn't stop. Fascinating.

No doubt...

Makes me want to go out to my car right now and bump that shit.

This album was always kind of mysterious to me.  I remember I was 14 when it came out.  It came out on a Tuesday Nov. 5th but it wasn't until Friday that I could get one of my 16 yr. old friends to drive me to the record store at the mall.  I had seen Snoop's Doggfather album advertised origionally for Nov. 5th so I went to the record store looking for it, and instead I saw 2pac's album, I was a little confused by the Mackevelli thing, but since it had the Death Row logo I was buying it for sure.  I didn't know 2pac had come with another album, because it wasn't that long ago that All Eyez On Me had dropped. 

The album sounded really dark and mysterious so it just added to the myth surrounding the album.  And with Pac dying it was even more bizzare to be hearing a new album from him.  The album really went over my head, only track I really liked right away was "Hail Mary".  it took about 6 months before I really got into the rest of the album.

That night I bought the record I remember "Hail Mary" was the only track I liked right away.

Definitely "Blasphemy" went over my head back then, I may of even thought it was a filler or somethin, and skipped over it.  At the time I was in to either gangsta rap like the Dogg Pound or player stuff like Jermaine Dupri... so pseudo-religious, philosophical tracks I didn't pay much attention to.

Now "Krazy" was probably the second track I got into.  But ultimately I put the album away and it gathered dust for a few months.

That was at the beginning of the school year.  but later that year some kid at school told me track 11 2pac gave a subliminal about fakin his death... the part about "switch my name to mackevelli"... the dude didn't know what he was talking about, but it did cause me to pull out the album again and take another listen.

Finally I was over at a friends house and really paid attention to the last 3 songs on the album for the first time. 

By the end of the school year it was my favorite album all-time.  I had a theatre class that year and for our last project we could do whatever we wanted so, I recited 2pac's "Me and My Girlfriend" and changed the lyrics to make it about my girlfriend that had moved away that school year.  That was the last day of school.

i feel you on this, i was 18 when this dropped and i remember me and my homies all pretty much thought it sounded kinda unfinished, we thought death row just put it out after he died in a quick hurry....we really only like 'live & die in LA' and 'hail mary'....the video for toss it up was out and i had thought it was way to soft, except for him going at dre.... it took us a couple of weeks, a couple of 40's, and bout a zone to really appreciate it.....after that, it was in rotation daily, 'krazy' was the weed song for a loooong time

am I the only one who thinks the mixing on this is pretty bad especially Blasphemy

I know Quik mixed most of AEOM and it sounds alot better than The 7 Day Theory
